Frequently Asked Questions - KASSDCEACLA Kogan

How do I clean the air filter on my Kogan KASSDCEACLA?
Turn off and unplug the unit. Remove the filter cover, take out the filter, and wash it with warm water and mild detergent. Let it dry completely before reinstalling. Clean every two weeks for optimal performance.
What does the 'DRY' mode do?
The DRY mode dehumidifies the air without significantly cooling it. It runs the fan at low speed to remove moisture from the room.
Can I use an extension cord with my air conditioner?
It is recommended to plug the air conditioner directly into a dedicated wall outlet. Using an extension cord may cause voltage drop and overheating. Avoid if possible.
How often should I drain the condensate water?
In COOL or DRY mode, the unit collects water in an internal tank. When the tank is full, the LED indicator will flash and the unit will stop. Drain via the bottom plug or attach a continuous drain hose.
What is the ideal temperature setting for energy savings?
For energy efficiency, set the thermostat between 24-26 °C (75-78 °F). Each degree lower increases energy consumption by about 5-8%.
My remote control is not working. What should I do?
Check if the batteries are installed correctly and replace them if needed. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the unit. Point the remote directly at the receiver and try again.
How do I set the timer?
Press the TIMER button on the remote or control panel. Use the +/- buttons to set the desired off time (in hours). The unit will stop after that duration. You can also set an on timer similarly.
What does the 'SLEEP' mode do?
Sleep mode gradually increases the set temperature by 1 °C per hour over the first two hours, then maintains it. This reduces energy use and noise while you sleep.
Is it normal for the power cord to feel warm?
The power cord may become slightly warm during operation. If it feels hot or shows signs of melting, unplug immediately and contact customer support.
How long is the exhaust hose and can I extend it?
The exhaust hose is approximately 1.5 meters long. Do not extend or replace with a longer hose, as it may reduce cooling efficiency and cause overheating.

Dry Air Mode

In this mode, the evaporative cooler primarily focuses on cooling the air by passing it through the cooling pads while minimizing the amount of water vapor introduced into the environment. It is useful in areas with already high humidity levels or when the user prefers a cooling effect without increasing the moisture content in the air.

  • With the air cool on, press and hold the fan speed “💡” button for 3 second to enable the dry air mode. The fan indicator on the display panel will illuminate.
  • Once enables, all buttons except the fan speed and power button will be invalid.
  • To disable dry air mode, press and hold the fan speed button for 3 seconds.
  • After running for 20 minutes, the air cooler will automatically shut down and enter standby.

Cooling/Humidifying

The Cooling/Humidifying mode is particularly beneficial in hot and dry climates where the air tends to be arid. By adding moisture to the air, the evaporative cooler can provide a more comfortable and refreshing indoor environment. The cooling effect is achieved through the evaporation process, which naturally reduces the air temperature, while the added humidity helps to alleviate dryness and improve overall comfort.

  • To enable this mode, with the air cool on, press the cooling/humidifying “ %” button. The respective indicator on the display panel will illuminate.
    • To disable, press the cooling/humidifying button again.

Low Water Alarm

When the water level becomes low, the water pump will stop working and the air cooler will 'beep' 10 times.

The water tank will need to be refilled.

Refilling Water

If you need to turn on the cooling and humidifying mode, ensure the water tank has been filled with water. Note: When the air cooler is used for the first time, there may be a slight odour and the water in the water tank will have a slight discoloration. This is a normal and will not affect your health or the operation of the air cooler.

To add water to the water tank:

  1. Rotate the two locking tabs on the rear of the air cool.
  2. Remove the water tank.
