USER MANUAL Mole Electro Harmonix
Congratulations on your purchase of the The MOLE. The small enclosure insures a pedal board friendly fit while delivering a bass boost that is powerful and defined.
The MOLE is an Analog bass booster in a compact Nano pedal. It was specifically designed for the bass player who is looking for simple control that delivers a bass character that cannot be found in their bass or amplifier alone. Up to 20 dB of Bass frequency boost is possible allowing any bass to take on the character of numerous bass and amplifier combinations. It also works well with guitar to tailor a darker but musical tone from treble pickups. With a little experimenting you will see that The MOLE opens thunderous new horizons to your bass setup and a solid foundation on other instruments.
Plug your Instrument into the INPUT jack of your amplifier. Plug the DC adaptor into the 96DC-200 jack and then plug the DC adaptor into a wall outlet. The STATUS LED indicates when the effect is switched on. The MOLE comes provided with a 9 volt battery.
There are only two controls on The MOLE. The on/off footswitch engages and disengages The MOLE and the rotary Boost knob reacts like a specific frequency boost control. The single knob is really a preamp gain. The higher the Boost knob is turned up the more gain is applied ranging from a thickened bottom end to a powerful overdrive push to your amp. At the maximum setting you receive 20 dB of gain in the preselected 200 Hz bass frequency range (the boost stops at 400 Hz). Understanding the setup of between The MOLE and your amplifier is critical. When setting up for the first time, be careful with the Boost control. Experiment with the interaction of The MOLE and your amplifier at different settings. You will learn the settings that react best with your instrument. Once you understand the correct interaction between your instrument and amplifier you will see the huge and varied potential that The MOLE provides.
