Frequently Asked Questions - CID2RU16-20DB1 Panduit

What type of cables does the CID2RU16-20DB1 support?
The panel supports standard Category 6/6A copper cables or fiber optic connectors depending on the variant. Check the manual for exact specifications.
How do I mount the panel in a rack?
Attach the included mounting brackets to the sides of the panel using the provided screws. Then secure the panel to the rack rails with cage nuts and bolts (not included). For a 2U space, align the panel with the rack holes and tighten.
Is the CID2RU16-20DB1 compatible with 10GbE?
If the panel uses Category 6A jacks or OM3/OM4 fiber adapters, it can support 10GbE. Verify the connector type in your manual.
Can I use this panel for fiber splicing?
No, this is a patch panel for terminating and organizing cables, not for splicing. For splicing, use a dedicated fiber splice enclosure.
How do I clean the panel?
Disconnect all cables. Wipe the surface with a dry lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or isopropyl alcohol. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
What is the weight capacity?
The panel itself weighs about 2.5 lbs. It is designed to hold the weight of the cables only; do not support other equipment on it.
Are there any warranty details?
Panduit offers a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Register your product on the Panduit website for warranty service.
Can I install this panel in a shallow depth rack?
Yes, the panel depth is approximately 1.2 inches (30 mm), making it suitable for most shallow racks. Ensure the rack depth is at least that dimension.
How do I replace a damaged port?
Ports are not user-replaceable. If a port is damaged, contact Panduit support for a replacement panel or repair options.
What does 'CID2RU16-20DB1' stand for?
CID likely indicates Copper Infrastructure Distribution, 2RU is rack height, 16 is the number of ports, and 20DB1 is a model variant. Refer to Panduit documentation for exact meaning.
