Frequently Asked Questions - 675R Kramer

What types of video inputs does the Kramer 675R support?
The Kramer 675R supports HDMI, VGA, and composite (RCA) video inputs, allowing connection of various sources such as computers, DVD players, and cameras.
Can the 675R convert analog video to digital?
Yes, the Kramer 675R can convert analog signals (VGA, composite) to digital HDMI, and also digital to analog for integration with older displays.
What maximum resolution does the 675R support?
It supports resolutions up to 1920x1200, including 1080p, making it suitable for HD content and computer displays.
Does the 675R require external power?

How do I set up the Kramer 675R?
Connect your source to the input (e.g., HDMI), then connect the output to your display. Plug in the power adapter. The unit should automatically detect and convert the signal. Use the front buttons for manual adjustments if needed.
What is EDID emulation and why is it important?
EDID emulation allows the converter to present a fixed set of supported resolutions to the source, preventing handshake issues and ensuring consistent output. The Kramer 675R includes this feature for reliable operation.
Can I use the 675R with audio?
Yes, it supports embedded audio from HDMI sources as well as separate stereo analog audio input and output via RCA connectors.
Is the Kramer 675R compatible with all displays?
It is compatible with most modern displays that have HDMI, VGA, or composite inputs. However, some older displays may not support the output format; check your display's capabilities.
How do I clean and maintain the 675R?

When using a duplex OSP SFP+ transceiver, connected with 2 fiber strands, always cross-connect the fiber connections, Rx OUT to Tx IN and Rx IN to Tx OUT, as unidirectional optical transmission is carried on simplex fiber strands.

To install the OSP SFP+ transceiver (not included):

Make sure the bail is pushed up, in the closed position.

Insert the OSP SFP+ transceiver into the relevant optical device SFP+ slot and push it in until it clicks.

Remove the protective cap and store it in a safe place for future use.

Warning: Connecting the OSP SFP+ connector to an LC(APC) fiber connector may cause poor performance and damage the connector! Refer to www.kramerav.com/downloads/OSP-MM1 for more information.

Warning: Class 1 Laser Product

Invisible laser radiation present.

Avoid long-term viewing of laser.

Bail Cap OUT IN

Avoid the use of magnifying viewing aids or instruments (such as binoculars, telescopes, microscopes and magnifying lenses, but not spectacles or contact lenses).

Avoid placing optical devices in the emitted beam that could cause the concentration of the laser radiation to be increased.

Step 5: Connect the power

Connect the power cord to 675T/675R and plug it into the mains electricity.
