How do I initialize the interface?

With key off, connect harness. For Fiat 500L and Ram Promaster City: turn hazard lights on, then connect harness, turn ignition on and wait up to 60 seconds for radio to power. Turn off hazard lights after. For others: simply turn ignition on and wait. If radio doesn't come on, check connections and retry.

Why doesn't my aftermarket radio turn on?

Ensure all connections are secure, especially the black (ground), yellow (battery), and red (accessory) wires. Verify the interface initialization procedure was followed correctly. If still no power, check vehicle fuses and that the interface is receiving 12V.

How do I connect the ASWC-1 steering wheel control module?

The interface has a pre-wired 12-pin harness for ASWC-1. Connect the ASWC-1 to that harness, ignoring the ASWC-1's own harness. Connect the red accessory wire from the ASWC-1 harness to the aftermarket radio's accessory wire. Refer to the ASWC-1 manual for programming after initializing the interface.

Will the factory backup camera work?

Yes, if the factory camera was displayed through the OEM radio. Connect the yellow RCA jack from the interface to the backup camera input on the aftermarket radio. The reverse wire (green/purple) must also be connected if required.

How do I retain the factory AUX-IN jack?

Connect the red and white RCA jacks from the interface to the AUX input on the aftermarket radio. This retains the vehicle's 3.5mm AUX-IN.

What are the NAV output wires used for?

The blue/pink wire provides speed sense (VSS), green/purple for reverse signal, and light green for parking brake. These are used by aftermarket navigation or multimedia radios to enable features like auto-zoom, reverse camera trigger, and video playback while parked.

The interface lost power; what should I do?

If the interface loses power, you must repeat the initialization procedure: disconnect and reconnect the harness, then cycle the ignition as described in the manual. Also check for loose connections or blown fuses.

CAUTION! All accessories, switches, climate controls panels, and especially air bag indicator lights must be connected before cycling the ignition. Also, do not remove the factory radio with the key in the on position, or while the vehicle is running.

Connections to be made

From the XSVI-6523-NAV harness to the aftermarket radio:

• Connect the Black wire to the ground wire.
• Connect the Yellow wire to the battery wire.
• Connect the Red wire to the accessory wire.

Note: If installing an ASWC-1 (sold separately), there will be an accessory wire there to connect as well.

• For the Fiat 500L only: Connect the Blue/White wire labeled "500L amp turn on" to the amp turn on wire. This wire must be connected to hear sound from the factory amplifier.
• For all models except the Fiat 500L: Connect the Blue/White wire to the amp turn on wire. This wire must be connected to hear sound from the factory amplifier.
• If the aftermarket radio has an illumination wire, connect the Orange wire to it.
• Connect the Gray wire to the right front positive speaker output.
• Connect the Gray/Black wire to the right front negative speaker output.
• Connect the White wire to the left front positive speaker output.
• Connect the White/Black wire to the left front negative speaker output.
• Connect the Green wire to the left rear positive speaker output.
• Connect the Green/Black wire to the left rear negative speaker output.
• Connect the Purple wire to the right rear positive speaker output.
• Connect the Purple/Black wire to the right rear negative speaker output.

The following (3) wires are only for multimedia/navigation radios that require these wires.

• Connect the Blue/Pink wire to the VSS/speed sense wire.
• Connect the Green/Purple wire to the reverse wire.
• Connect the Light Green wire to the parking brake wire.
• If retaining the factory backup camera, connect the Yellow RCA jack to the backup camera input.
• If retaining the factory AUX-IN jack, connect the Red & White RCA jacks to the AUX input.

12-pin pre-wired ASWC-1 harness:

- This harness is to be used along with the optional ASWC-1 (not included) to retain steering wheel audio controls. If the ASWC-1 is not being used, disregard this harness. If it will be used, please refer to the ASWC-1 instructions for radio connections and programming.

Note: Disregard the harness that comes with the ASWC-1.

- Connect the Red wire to the accessory wire.

With the key in the off position:

- Connect the XSVI-6523-NAV harness into the interface, and then to the harness in the vehicle.

Note: For the Fiat 500L and Ram Promaster City, do not connect the harness to the vehicle yet.

Note: If using the ASWC-1, connect it after you initialize and test the XSVI-6523-NAV, with the key in the off position.

Attention! If the interface loses power for any reason, the following steps will need to be performed again. Also, if installing an ASWC-1 connect it after you initialize and test the interface/radio, with the key in the off position.

For the Fiat 500L and Ram Promaster City:

• Turn the hazard lights on.
• Connect the XSVI-6523-NAV harness to the wiring harness in the vehicle.
• Turn the key (or push-to-start button) to the ignition position and wait until the radio comes on.
  Note: If the radio does not come on within 60 seconds, turn the key to the off position, disconnect the interface, check all connections, reconnect the interface, and then try again.
• Turn the key to the off position, and then to the accessory position. Turn off the hazard lights. Test all functions of the installation for proper operation, before reassembling the dash.

For all other models:

• Turn the key (or push-to-start button) to the ignition position and wait until the radio comes on.
  Note: If the radio does not come on within 60 seconds, turn the key to the off position, disconnect the interface, check all connections, reconnect the interface, and then try again.
• Turn the key to the off position, and then to the accessory position. Test all functions of the installation for proper operation, before reassembling the dash.
