Frequently Asked Questions - ICAB-COOL-2 Middle Atlantic

How do I set the temperature control on the ICAB-COOL-2?
The inline fan control has a jumper with three positions: default (center) turns fan on at 87°F and off at 85°F; left position keeps fan off; right position keeps fan on. Adjust the jumper on the two-pin header accordingly.
Can I use one fan for intake and the other for exhaust?
Yes. The CAB-COOL-2 allows two fans to operate as intake and exhaust by inverting one fan so airflow direction is opposite. Mount one fan normally for exhaust and the inverted one for intake.
What size hole do I need to cut for installation?
Use a 3.5-inch hole saw to cut a hole in the cabinet front. The louvered guard will cover the template markings.
What tools are required for installation?
You need a 3.5-inch hole saw, a 3/32-inch drill bit, and a #2 Phillips head driver. Also ensure wood screws are not longer than the panel thickness.
How many fans come with the ICAB-COOL-2?
The ICAB-COOL-2 includes two fan units. Each fan is rated at 20 CFM and 12 VDC @ 120mA, for a total airflow of 40 CFM.
Can I paint the louvered guard?
Yes. The grille can be painted to match the aesthetics of any environment. Ensure paint does not obstruct airflow.
What is the warranty period for this product?
Middle Atlantic warrants the CAB-COOL Series to be free from defects for three years from date of shipment. See full warranty for terms.
How do I connect the fans to the inline control?
Run the cable from each fan unit to the inline fan control. Inputs 1 and 2 are interchangeable. Then connect the power supply to the control input.
Are wire ties included for cable management?
Yes. The ICAB-COOL-2 includes 10 wire ties and 10 wire tie mounts to manage cables neatly inside the cabinet.
What is the noise level of the ICAB-COOL-2?
The noise level is 27 dBA at 1 meter, which is relatively quiet for a cabinet cooler.
