Frequently Asked Questions - VRS Middle Atlantic

How do I mount the VRS PDU in a rack?
Attach the included mounting brackets to the sides of the unit using the provided screws. Position the PDU horizontally or vertically in the rack and secure the brackets to the rack rails using cage nuts and screws (not included). Ensure the unit is properly grounded.
What is the maximum load for the VRS PDU?
The maximum continuous load is 15 amps at 120V AC, which corresponds to 1800 watts. Do not exceed this rating to avoid tripping the circuit breaker or damaging the unit.
Can the VRS be mounted vertically?
Yes, the VRS supports both horizontal and vertical mounting. The included brackets can be adjusted to allow vertical orientation along the rear or side rails of the rack.
How do I reset the circuit breaker?
If the circuit breaker trips due to overload or short circuit, unplug the device and remove the load. Wait a few seconds, then press the reset button on the front panel. Restore power gradually.
What does the surge protection indicator mean?
The surge protection LED indicates the status of the internal surge protection. A steady green light means protection is active. A red or no light indicates the surge protection has been compromised and the unit should be replaced.
Is the VRS compatible with 230V power?
No, the VRS is designed for 120V AC input only. Using it with 230V will damage the unit and void the warranty.
How long is the power cord?
The VRS comes with a 6-foot (1.8 m) power cord terminated with a NEMA 5-15P plug. Do not use extension cords to prevent voltage drop.
Can I daisy-chain multiple VRS PDUs?
Daisy-chaining is not recommended as it can exceed circuit capacity and create fire hazards. Each PDU should be plugged directly into a dedicated wall outlet.
What is the warranty period for the VRS?
Middle Atlantic provides a 2-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Proof of purchase is required for service.
How do I clean the VRS PDU?
Disconnect the unit from power. Wipe the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. Allow all surfaces to dry completely before reconnecting.
