Frequently Asked Questions - AT-HDVS-150-TX-WP Atlona

Which sinks are compatible with the AT-HDVS-150-TX-WP?
It is designed to work with the AT-HDVS-150-RX receiver, which provides power via HDBaseT and HD scaling.
What maximum distance can I extend 1080p signals?
Up to 230 feet (70 meters) using CAT6a/7 cable for 1080p or 1920x1200.
How do I switch between HDMI and VGA inputs?
Press the INPUT SELECT button. The LED shows blue for HDMI and red for VGA. The last selected input is retained after power loss.
Does the wall plate require an external power supply?
No, it is powered over the Ethernet cable (PoE) from the compatible receiver. A separate power supply is not needed.
How does auto-switching work?
Auto-switching automatically selects the most recently connected or powered source. It is triggered by a Hot-Plug Detect (HPD) event. VGA does not support HPD, so auto-switching may not work for VGA sources. The feature is off by default and can be enabled via the receiver.
Can I embed analog audio to the VGA signal?
Yes, connect a 3.5mm audio source to the AUDIO IN port. Audio is passed only when the VGA input is selected and an active VGA source is connected. Audio cannot be passed without video.
How do I update the firmware?
Download the latest .bin file from Atlona. Remove the wall plate, disconnect the Ethernet cable, remove the faceplate, then press and hold the DISPLAY ON/OFF button while connecting a USB cable (Type A to Mini-B) to your computer. A drive named USB UPDATER will appear. Copy the firmware file to the drive, disconnect USB, and reconnect Ethernet to complete the update.
What does the LINK LED indicate?
The LINK LED glows solid amber when a powered HDBaseT link is established between the transmitter and a compatible receiver.
Can I control the display power from the wall plate?
Yes, press the DISPLAY ON/OFF button to toggle the display's power. When the display is off, the button glows blue to help locate the plate in dark rooms. Button functionality can be customized if using an Atlona receiver.

NOTE: Auto-switching is triggered by a Hot-Plug Detect (HPD) event. If HPD is not detected, then AT-HDVS-150-TX-WP will not switch inputs. VGA does not support HPD.

Passing Analog Audio

Two-channel analog audio can be added to the VGA signal. In order for the audio to be passed to the receiver, an active VGA source must be connected to the VGA IN port and the port must be selected. Analog audio cannot be embedded on an HDMI signal or passed without a video signal on the VGA IN port.

  1. Connect a VGA source to the VGA IN port on the wall plate.
  2. Connect a 3.5 mm mini-stereo cable from the AUDIO IN port to the analog audio source.
  3. Make sure the VGA IN port is selected. When the VGA IN port is the active, the INPUT SELECT button will turn bright red.

The illustration below shows a desktop PC providing both the audio and video source. However, these signals may be connected to separate sources.
