Frequently Asked Questions - 4TTEN WMD

What is the 4TTEN used for?
The 4TTEN is a passive attenuator module with four channels, ideal for lowering audio or CV signals before patching into other modules. It also features a manual offset generator that provides 0-5V when no input is connected.
How do I connect it to my Eurorack system?
Connect the 4TTEN to your Eurorack power bus using the included 10-pin ribbon cable. Ensure correct orientation (red stripe for -12V). No additional power is needed as it is passive.
How does the offset generator work?
With nothing patched to the input jack, the top jack (output) provides a 0-5V voltage controlled by the slider. The bottom position gives 0V, top gives 5V. This is useful for adding offset to CV signals or as a manual control source.
Can I use it to attenuate CV signals?
Yes, the 4TTEN works with both audio and CV signals. It is passive, so there is virtually no drop on 1V/Oct signals, making it suitable for pitch CV as well.
What is the attenuation range?
The slider controls attenuation from full silence (bottom) to unity gain (top). There is no amplification, only reduction.
Is it buffered?
No, the 4TTEN is unbuffered. It is a simple passive circuit. This means it may introduce some impedance variations but is designed for minimal signal degradation.
How much power does it draw?
The module consumes +5 mA and -5 mA from the Eurorack power supply (10 mA total). This power is used only for the panel components, not for signal processing.
What are the dimensions?
The 4TTEN is 4 HP wide (20.32 mm) and 30 mm deep including the power cable. Depth without cable is approximately 25 mm.
Can I mix multiple channels?
Each channel is independent. To mix signals, you would need an external mixer module. However, you can chain attenuators by patching the output of one channel into the input of another.
How do I clean it?
Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the panel and sliders. Avoid liquids, abrasive cleaners, or compressed air, which can damage components.

USER MANUAL 4TTEN WMD

The classic attenuator with live performance sensibility. 4TTEN offers four easy to use passive attenuators with performance friendly sliders for controlling attenuation amount. Offsets normalled to the input of each attenuation offer even more performance ready control when you don't have a signal to attenuate.

METHOD OF OPERATION:

ATTENUATOR:

Patch the signal you would like to attenuate into the bottom jack of one of the A,B,C, or D groups. The corresponding output is the jack directly above the input. Move the slider with the same letter label to attenuate the signal. The bottom slider position is full attenuation. The top position is no attenuation.

MANUAL OFFSET GENERATOR:

With nothing patched to the input, patch the top jack of one of the A,B,C, or D groups. The voltage present at the output is controlled by the slider. The bottom position is 0V. The top position is 5V.
