Frequently Asked Questions - CTH5162 Heller

How do I clean the heater?
Always unplug the heater first. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. For deeper dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the openings. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Why does the heater turn off by itself?
The heater has an overheat protection and tip-over switch. If it turns off, check for blocked air intake/outlet or if it has tipped over. After cooling down, it may restart automatically.
Can I use the heater in a bathroom?
This heater is not rated for bathroom use. It should be kept away from water and moisture. Use only in dry indoor areas.
How to reset the thermal cut-out?
Turn off the heater, unplug it, and let it cool for at least 10 minutes. After that, plug it in and turn it on. The thermal cut-out will reset automatically once the temperature drops.
What is the power consumption?
The heater has two settings: 1000 W (low) and 2000 W (high). In fan-only mode, it consumes less than 30 W. The exact energy use depends on the thermostat.
Is the fan noisy?
The noise level is around 45 dB on low heat and slightly higher on high heat. The oscillation mechanism is silent.
How to set the thermostat?
Rotate the thermostat knob to your desired temperature. The heater will run until the room reaches that temperature, then it will cycle on and off to maintain it.
Can I leave the heater unattended?
It is not recommended to leave the heater unattended for long periods. Always ensure it is on a stable, non-flammable surface and away from curtains or furniture.
What should I do if the heater smells like burning?
New heaters may emit a slight smell during first use due to residue burning off. If the smell persists, turn off immediately, unplug, and check for dust buildup on the heating element. Clean if needed.
How to store the heater in summer?
Clean the heater, allow it to cool completely, and store in a dry, dust-free place. Keep the power cord loosely coiled, and cover with a cloth to prevent dust accumulation.
