Frequently Asked Questions - Upright NEU700 EUREKA

How do I assemble the vacuum cleaner?
Attach the main body to the floor nozzle until it clicks. Slide the pole onto the top and push down until it clicks. Slide the handle into the top of the pole and push down until it clicks. Attach the hose by aligning it with the inlet and pushing in until the clip snaps. Store the crevice tool and 2-in-1 tool on the posts.
How do I empty the dust cup?
Press the release button and lift off the dust cup. Hold it over a wastebasket, press the lever to release the bottom lid, and empty the debris. Close the bottom lid until it clicks.
How do I clean or replace the filters?
For the pre-motor filter, pull the dust cup latch to lift the lid, remove the filter, shake off dust, and rinse every 3 months. Dry thoroughly. For the HEPA filter, turn off and unplug the vacuum, remove the dust cup, locate the HEPA cover, turn it counterclockwise to remove, lift out the old filter, replace with a new one, and secure the cover. Replace the HEPA filter yearly.
What should I do if the brushroll stops spinning?
The brushroll may stop if clogged. Turn off the vacuum, unplug it, and lower the handle. Turn the vacuum face down on the floor. Use scissors to clip any threads or debris around the brushroll. Remove any clogs from the floor nozzle access port. After cleaning, return the vacuum to upright position and lower the handle to resume spinning.
How do I clear a blockage in the hose?
Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Remove the hose by pressing the clip and pulling it away from the inlet. Use a rod or blunt implement to clear debris from the hose, flexing it to loosen blockages. Also check the air path on the vacuum where the hose connects. Reattach the hose securely.
What does the thermal cut-off do and how do I reset it?
The thermal cut-off protects the motor from overheating. If the vacuum suddenly shuts off, turn off and unplug it. Check for overheating sources like a full dust cup, blocked hose, or clogged filter. Fix any issues and wait at least 30 minutes. Plug in and turn on. If it still doesn't work, call customer service.
Can I use the vacuum on all floor types?
Yes, the vacuum has a Carpet mode and a Hard Floor mode. Press the FLOOR TYPE button to select the appropriate mode. The brushroll spins only when the handle is lowered into the vacuuming position.
How long is the warranty and what does it cover?
The Eureka limited warranty covers defects in material and workmanship for 5 years from the original purchase date under normal household use. It covers repair or replacement of the vacuum or parts at Eureka's option. It does not cover normal wear, damage from misuse, or unauthorized repairs.
How do I use the accessories?
For tools with the pole as an extension wand, press the wand release button and slide out the pole. Slide tools onto the end until they click. For handle-only use, remove the upper handle portion by pressing the silver button and pulling up, then attach tools. When done, press the silver button and pull off. Always keep the vacuum in upright position when using attachments.
What should I do if the motor does not start?
Ensure the plug is securely in the outlet. Try another outlet or check the circuit breaker. Press the power switch to turn on the vacuum. If it still doesn't work, follow the thermal cut-off instructions (wait 30 minutes) or call customer service at 1-800-282-2886.
