INTRODUCTION
Steiner is one of the largest manufacturers of high-quality optics in the world. Steiner products represent the highest level of precision and technology. Your DRS1X sight is engineered and built to provide reliable accuracy under any field condition. This manual outlines the basic operation and maintenance of the sight.

Adjustment
MOUNTING THE SIGHT
The DRS1X comes with a standard mount for use on weapons with Picatinny or MIL-STD-1913 rails. Place the sight at any position on the rail that allows for optimal performance for the operator. Make sure that the base of the mounting bracket is fully seated on the rail with no front or rear overhang.
Push the sight forward until the cross bolt contacts the front of the slot on the rail. Once the sight is fitted properly and as forward as it can go, tighten the cross bolt between 60 and 65 in. lbs.
WARNING! Make sure your firearm is unloaded before attempting to mount the scope on your firearm. Practice safe firearms handling at all times.
OPERATION
The DRS1X is powered by two (2) AA batteries. The battery compartment is located at the front of the sight housing. To access the batteries, turn each battery cap counter clockwise to loosen and remove. Install the batteries positive end first then place the caps back on and turn them clockwise to tighten. Once caps are hand tight, the
optic is ready to function. It is recommended that all batteries be removed for long-term storage of the site.
Low Battery Indicator
When the battery runs low and within two hours of being empty, the reticle will blink five times every 10 minutes until the battery is changed or is fully empty.
NOTE: The DRS1x can operate on 1 AA battery, though run time will be reduced.

On the DRS1X there are three buttons located on top of the unit. The Square button to the rear of the sight is the Selection/Power button. Hold this button down for 1 second to activate the sight. Once the reticle is visible, the triangle buttons in front of the Selection/Power button can be used to increase or decrease the illumination levels. There are seven illumination settings: 4 day and 3 night. The DRS-1X will remember the last illumination setting used and will return to that setting when reactivated.

RETICLE SELECTION
The Selection/Power button can be used to switch between a single red dot or the C2 reticle which has three options. The 2 MOA center dot is calibrated for a 25-meter site in. The second reticle choice is a the C2 reticle with a center dot and two stadia lines that are calibrated for an 18-inch (man-size) target at 25 and 50 yards. The third option is the center dot with two stadia lines with a second 13.64 MOA dot just below it for ranges of 7 meters and closer.

RETICLE ADJUSTMENT
For precise adjustment of the reticle, windage and elevation screws are located on the left side (windage) and the rear (elevation) of the sight. They are calibrated so that 1 click = 1/2 MOA or 1/4-inch at 50 yards. Adjustments are indicated by detents and audible clicks.
Overall the DRS1X has +/- 25 MOA range for both windage and elevation.
Any windage or elevation adjustment are applied to all 3 reticle options so there is no need to adjust each reticle setting individually.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
Your DRS1X is fully water proof and fog proof in the event that the lenses are subjected to dust, dirt or mud, follow these steps to clean and protect the lens surfaces.
CAUTION - Remove all foreign material from the lens before cleaning with cloth to prevent damage to the lens.
Failure to remove grit before final cleaning is sure to damage lens coatings. Coarse dirt/debris must be removed from the lens surface. Position the sight so particles will fall away from the lens, and then use a soft brush to gently whisk away the debris, while blowing on the lens to dislodge the particles.
For heavy dirt, like dried mud, use a spray of clean water or lens cleaning fluid to remove the dirt. Your DRS1X sight will provide reliable performance given reasonable care and treatment.
