How do I pair the sensor with my Bosch Smart Home Controller?

Open the Bosch Smart Home app, navigate to 'Add device', select 'Door/Window Contact II Plus', then press and hold the pairing button on the sensor for 3 seconds until the LED blinks blue. The app will confirm successful pairing.

What battery does the sensor use and how do I replace it?

The sensor uses one CR123A 3V lithium battery. To replace, remove the cover by sliding it off, insert the new battery with correct polarity (+/-), and close the cover. The LED will flash briefly to confirm power.

Can I mount the sensor outdoors?

The sensor is designed for indoor use only. It is not weatherproof. For outdoor applications, consider using a weatherproof enclosure.

How do I adjust the sensor gap between the sensor and magnet?

The maximum recommended gap is 25 mm. If the door or window is thicker, you may need to use the included spacers or reposition the magnet closer. The sensor will detect when the magnet moves away beyond this gap.

What does the tamper alarm do?

The tamper alarm triggers an alert in the app if someone tries to remove the cover of the sensor. This provides protection against attempted disabling.

How can I clean the sensor?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use water, cleaners, or abrasives as they may damage the electronics.

Does the sensor work with Z-Wave hubs other than Bosch?

Do not charge used batteries, and do not attempt to reactivate them using heat or other means. Do not expose batteries to strong sunlight. Do not short-circuit batteries. Do not throw batteries into fire!

▶ Make sure the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries! Only use batteries of the same type. Drained batteries must be removed from the device immediately.
Remove batteries from the device if it is not in use for a long period of time.

The device is not a toy! Do not allow children to play with it. Never leave the packaging material lying around unattended. Plastic film and small parts may pose a danger to children.

Product overview

Pure electrical circuit lines without any symbols

Start-up

Ensure that you have a Bosch Smart Home controller and the Bosch Smart Home app and have successfully configured both. Now start the Bosch Smart Home app and select “Add new device”. Follow the instructions in the app.

Manually triggering individual automations

Pressing the operating button (3) for a short and long period of time can be configured individually in the app as triggers for automations.

Break function: Temporarily ignore sensor status

Pressing the operating button (3) twice activates the break function. After this is activated, the status of the door/window contact is temporarily ignored by the system for a one-time opening/closing process or for a specific amount of time. This function can be deactivated permanently in the device settings in the app.

Sensitivity setting

The sensitivity of the door/window contact vibration sensor can be adjusted or deactivated permanently in the device settings in the app.

The status LED (2) shows the status of the door/window contact using flashing codes.

Resetting to factory settings

You can reset the device to its factory settings as follows:

Remove the battery. While reinserting it, keep the operating button (3) pressed until the status LED (2) flashes orange. Release it briefly and press/ hold it again until the LED lights green. If the LEDs light up red during the reset process, remove the battery again and repeat the process. The device then restarts. Please note that it can take a few seconds until the door/window contact is ready for operation again.

When resetting to factory settings, the settings and information are only lost from the device and not from the Bosch Smart Home controller.
To re-configure the device, first delete it in the device management section of the Bosch Smart Home app and then add it again in the usual configuring process.

To remove or replace the battery, activate the unlocking (6) at the mounting plate (5) and then remove the sensor unit (1). Remove the battery.

Take care to ensure the correct polarity when replacing them.

The device does not require maintenance. Leave any repairs to a specialist. Clean the device with a soft, clean, dry and lint-free cloth. When cleaning, do not use any cleaning agents containing solvents.

Environmental protection and disposal

Electrical or electronic devices which are no longer usable must be collected separately and disposed of via an environmentally friendly recycling facility (European Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Use your country's specific return and collection systems when disposing of waste electrical or electronic devices.

Used batteries do not go in the household waste! Dispose of them at your local battery collection point!
