USER MANUAL WFA1076A BRANDT
Very important: Please read the whole of this manual before installing and using the washing machine. Refer to the illustration corresponding to the reference number in the text.

Identification

Identify which model your washing machine is ("a", "b") by comparing the control panel with the illustrations.

Installation

1.1 Unpacking the washing machine (1.1.1, 1.1.2 and 1.1.3). Remove the transit brackets and the security screws. 1.2 Connection to the mains (1.2.1, 1.2.2 and 1.2.3). Connect the bent end of the hose to the threaded inlet of the electrovalve located at the rear of the washing machine. Connect the other end of the hose to the water intake. Then securely tighten the connection nut. If the washing machine has a hot water intake, connect the red hose to the hot water tap (1.2.4). Always use the new hose supplied with the appliance. Remove any old pipes. 1.3 Draining. Install the elbow supplied, in accordance with the measurements shown in the diagram. 1.4 Stabilize the washing machine correctly to prevent any noise or shifting. The recommended order is as follows: 1. Position the rear legs and fix them in place (1.4.1). 2. Position the washing machine (1.4.2). 3. Position the front legs and fix them in place (1.4.3). 1.5 Connect plug to a 13amps socket. 1.6 This machine is for domestic use only and is designed to wash, rinse and spin machine-washable textiles. 1.7 Never remove the rating plate as it provides valuable information.

Using the washing machine

2.1 Opening the door. Open the door as indicated in the illustration (2.1).
2.2 Detergent and other products. Load the washing machine, after sorting the clothes according to colour, fabric type and how dirty they are. The detergent compartment is divided as follows: wash ⏚, prewash ⏚ and fabric softener ⚙ (2.2).
Important Note: Use only low suds detergent! Softener must be diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio before use.
2.3 Switching on the washing machine ①
2.4 Programme selection. Select the programme using the dial, after consulting the programme chart.
2.5 Selecting the spin speed Ⓞ. You can choose or suppress a spin speed ⏻ (2.5.1, 2.5.2, 2.5.3). If you select the Anti-crease or Rinse Hold option ⏻ (2.5.4) the washing process will stop before the final spin and the clothes will be left in water. You can deactivate the function at any time; it will continue with the final spin.
2.6 Additional functions. Easy ironing ☐; and intensive wash ⚪ for heavily soiled items.
2.7 Start delay Ⓛ. This option allows you to delay the start of washing.

2.9 Child proof lock. Press I→ and hold it down for approximately 3 seconds (2.9.1). This lock prevents children from using the washing machine. It is unlocked by pressing the button again and holding it down for approximately 3 seconds (2.9.2).
2.10 Wash process. You can check the programme phase and the remaining programme time.
Recommendations for use: As soon as the washing machine is installed you can programme a preliminary wash to check it is functioning correctly (standard cycle, with no load and at 60°). Use a protective net bag for small items: handkerchiefs and underwear.
Observations: 1. If you stop the washing machine to add more items to the load, make sure the water level is below the loading door. 2. The additional functions increase the washing time. 3. When the wash program is running, there is a 2 minute delay before you can open the door.

Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning the detergent compartment. It is recommended to do this once a month. 3.2 Cleaning the filter. It is recommended to do this once a year.
To clean the outside of the washing machine, use non-abrasive products and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

Troubleshooting

4.1 The washing machine includes a troubleshooting system which detects and warns of any anomalies. This can be seen on the display, LCD or when the pilot lights on the control panel start to flash.
4.1.1 The washing machine does not fill up with water. Check the water supply, the inlet tap, and clean the inlet filter. 4.1.2 The washing machine does not drain or spin. Check the state of the filter. 4.1.3 It does not spin. Redistribute the laundry in the drum and press the spin button again. 4.1.4 It will not start up. Check if the loading door is properly closed. 4.1.5 Any other code. Contact the Brandt Aftersales Department.
4.2 Vibrations or noise. Check it has been properly installed on flat leveled ground (points 1.1 and 1.4 of this manual). 4.3 Water in the detergent compartment. Ensure that the detergent compartment is not clogged (3.1).

Safety

• The water main pressure must be between 0.05 and 1 MPa (0.5 - 10 kg/cm²). - Do not use extension leads or adapters to connect the washing machine.

- The electrical installation must be powerful enough for the maximum power indicated on the rating plate and the plug must have the regulatory earth connection.
Do not interfere with the inside of the washing machine. If you have any problems you cannot solve yourself, call the technical service.
— This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. — Never use dry cleaning solvents, petrol or any other inflammable or explosive products in the washing water to avoid any risk of fire or explosion.

The Environment

This washing machine has been designed with environmental protection in mind.
Respect the environment. Always load the washing machine to the maximum recommended capacity for each programme: this will save water and power. Avoid the prewash programme whenever you can. Do not use too much detergent.
Waste electrical and electronic equipment management.
Do not throw away these appliances with general domestic waste.
Take your washing machine to a special waste collection centre.
Recycling domestic appliances means fewer negative consequences for health and the environment and saves power and natural resources.
