Frequently Asked Questions - CFD28SDQS Crosley

What are the clearance requirements for the refrigerator?
Sides and top require 7 inches of clearance; rear requires 1 inch for proper air circulation.
How do I connect the water supply to the ice maker?
Use 1/4 inch copper or stainless steel tubing. Flush the line, then attach using a compression nut and ferrule (for copper) or a pre-assembled nut (for stainless steel). Tighten the nut finger-tight plus a half turn with a wrench. Do not overtighten.
How do I level the refrigerator?
Adjust the front leveling legs so the refrigerator is level side-to-side and tilted 1/4 inch front to back. Use the adjustable lower hinge to fine-tune door height by rotating the washer.
How do I adjust the doors?
Open doors 90 degrees, remove the screw from the lower hinge, rotate the washer clockwise to raise the door or counterclockwise to lower it. Replace the screw flush with the hinge. If popping sounds occur, use a longer screw provided.
How do I level the freezer drawer?
Check gasket seal. If not sealed, slightly loosen the 4 drawer screws (2 each side), close drawer to adjust, then retighten screws and recheck seal.
How do I turn on the ice maker?
Lower the wire signal arm (for freezer ice maker) or set the On/Off power switch to the 'ON' position (for fresh food ice maker). Ensure water supply is connected and turned on.
What should I do if water leaks?
Turn off water supply at shutoff valve and tighten all connections. If using copper tubing, ensure the compression nut is tight but not overtightened. Check for damage to tubing.
Can I install the refrigerator without a water connection?
Yes, but make sure the ice maker power switch is turned off to prevent damage. Refer to the Use & Care Guide for details.
How do I remove the doors for installation?
Refer to the 'Removing Doors' section in the Use & Care Guide. It is not covered in the installation instructions provided.
