Instructions for Use

Before Using the Cake Pop Maker

Before using the cake pop maker, clean the upper and lower cooking plates with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Lightly coat the cooking plates with a small amount of vegetable oil, applied using either an oil spray or a paper towel. The oil will help to protect the quality of the cooking plates.

Note: During the first use, there may be a slight odour or smoke emitted from the cake pop maker. This is caused by the residues burning off the non-stick cooking plates. Allow the cake pop maker to preheat until the smoke and odour cease.

Using the Cake Pop Maker

Plug the cake pop maker into the mains power supply; the red indicator light will illuminate to show that it is heating up.

Preheat the cake pop maker for approximately five minutes.

When the cake pop maker is ready to use, the green ready light will illuminate.

Open the lid carefully using heat-resistant oven gloves and add one tablespoon of pre-prepared cake batter to each of the wells.

Do not overfill the cake pop moulds otherwise the cake pops will not rise. It is recommended to fill each mould to approximately 2mm below the rim of the lower cooking plate mould, which equates to approximately 1 tablespoon of batter.

Close the lid of the cake pop maker and cook for five minutes.

Note: Steam may be emitted from the cake pop maker during cooking.

Open the cake pop maker using heat-resistant oven gloves and remove the cake pops using the two-pronged fork provided. Do not use the two-pronged fork directly onto the cooking surface, as this may scratch the cooking plates.

When cooking more than one batch of cake pops, close the lid after removing each batch to maintain the heat in the cake pop maker.

It is normal for the baked cake pops to appear darker on the bottom than on the top. This is due to the batter rising and the cake pop's contact with the heating plates.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Always unplug the cake pop maker from the mains power supply before cleaning and storing.

Ensure that the cake pop maker has completely cooled before cleaning, as it gets very hot during use.

Clean the upper and lower cooking plates with a damp cloth and allow to dry.

Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

Wrap the mains cord around the base of the cake pop maker for storage.

Decorating the Cake Pops

Use the two-pronged fork provided to remove the finished cake pops from the cake pop maker. Be careful not to scratch the non-stick surface of the upper and lower cooking plates.

Freshly decorated cake pops can be left to set and dry on the tray. The tray can also be used for cooling freshly baked cake pops.

50 cake pop sticks are supplied but additional sticks can be purchased from specialist cake or craft stores and from various online cake accessories suppliers.

It is recommended that you dip approximately 2cm of one end of the cake pop stick into icing or melted chocolate before inserting it into the cooled cake pop to ensure that the cake pops adhere better to the stick. Do not coat the cake pops more than once as they may become too heavy and break.

Fill a measuring cup or narrow jug with warm decorating glaze and completely submerge the cake pops in it. For the best results, place the cake pops in the freezer for approximately 10-20 minutes, then dip them in the warm decorating glaze. Add sprinkles, hundreds and thousands and other toppings whilst the glaze is still warm, then leave them to dry and set in the cake pop tray provided.

There are plenty of decorating methods and ingredients for the cake pops. They can be dipped in melted chocolate or icing in a variety of colours, then decorated further with sprinkles, chopped nuts or edible glitter. Edible frosting can also be moulded into a number of different shapes and designs.
