Thank you for purchasing the MXL LSM-5GR dynamic microphone. With proper care, this mic will provide many years of satisfaction. For best results, please take a few moments to review this literature.
General Characteristics
This microphone is a cardioid dynamic microphone. This microphone incorporates a high end boost for clear, crisp performances. For a warmer, richer tone, the MXL LSM-7GN is available. The microphone was designed primarily as a vocal microphone for on-stage use. The term "cardioid response" means that the LSM-5GR is most sensitive to sound arriving from the front, and less sensitive to sound from the rear and sides. Rugged construction and a steel mesh grill ensure the LSM-5GR will perform consistently in nearly all environments. The LSM-5GR features a standard 3-pin male XLR type connector. The microphone can be
connected to the rest of your equipment using a standard microphone cable fitted with a female 3-pin type XLR connector.
Microphone Cables
The microphone cable can have a profound effect on the sound of any microphone. Even the finest microphones will sound poor if the interconnect cable allows noise to enter, or causes distortion and loss of information. Use only the best microphone cable your budget will allow.
Care
Dust and foreign materials can degrade the performance of a microphone over time so always store the unit in a moisture free environment.
