Before using your new washer, make sure the washer cord is plugged into a properly grounded, 120 Volt electrical outlet, that washer hoses are connected to hot and cold water faucets, and that faucets are turned on. Be sure the drain hose is not kinked and is inserted into a drain. See Installation Instructions for details of proper washer installation. Keep these instructions for future reference.

TO WASH CLOTHES

1 Get clothes ready for washing. Empty pockets and cuffs. Sort items into separate loads. Pretreat stains and heavily soiled areas.

Consult the Handbook (supplied with the washer) for information on how to get the best cleaning results.

2 Measure and add detergent to the wash basket.

3 Add clothes loosely into the wash basket. The bulk of the clothes rather than the weight will determine load size.

4 Close the lid. The washer won't agitate or spin with the lid open.

5 Set WASH/RINSE temperatures.

6 Set AGITATION/SPIN speeds. Turn the control knob until it "clicks" into place. For best results, use gentle agitation for the lowest water levels.

7 Set WATER LEVEL control. "A" is for small loads. "D" is for extra large loads.

8 Select cycle according to the type of fabric being washed. Push the timer knob in and turn clockwise to the desired cycle and wash time.

9 Pull the timer knob out to start the water fill. Agitation will begin when water reaches the level you select.

THE WASHER WILL STOP (PAUSE) FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE MINUTE BEFORE THE WASH AND RINSE SPINS. DO NOT TURN THE TIMER THROUGH THESE PAUSES. THEY ARE PART OF THE CYCLE.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

TIMER.....Although the washer cycles are automatic, the timer may be reset to lengthen, shorten or repeat a portion of a cycle.

TO SET OR RESET THE TIMER

PUSH TIMER KNOB IN TO STOP THE WASHER. HOLD TIMER KNOB IN FIRMLY WHILE TURNING IT CLOCKWISE TO THE SETTING DESIRED. PULL TIMER KNOB OUT TO START WASHER.

AUTOMATIC CYCLES..

- REGULAR — Use for sturdy items, like play or work clothes, towels, T-shirts, etc. The wash time and temperature selection will depend on the type of fabric and the amount of soil. For the best results when cleaning heavily soiled items, use a longer wash time (15 minutes maximum). Lightly soiled items require less wash time.

PERMANENT PRESS — Use for permanent press items and synthetics. The wash time and temperature selection will depend upon the type of fabric and amount of soil. The permanent press cycle automatically cools the temperature of the fibers before the spin. After wash agitation stops, the wash basket spins slowly, partially drains and then stops. Cold water will then be automatically added to the wash basket, until the proper water level is reached. This happens one or two times, depending on the size of the load and the type of drain the washer is connected to. When the “cool-down” is complete, the washer will pause for approximately one minute before continuing the cycle.

KNIT/HANDWASH — Wash delicate items you usually wash by hand on this cycle. The wash temperature selection will depend on the type of fabric and amount of soil. The agitation and spin speeds are automatically set for you. There is an automatic cold rinse. The cycle has a “cool-down” like the permanent press cycle.

The wash portion of this cycle alternates between one and two minutes of agitation and five minutes of soaking. This method insures gentle handling.

KNIT/HAND WASH PULL RADIUS TO START - PUSH ON/OB TO STOP

SOAK — Use this cycle to soak stained or heavily soiled items before washing. Soaking helps to loosen stains and soils so items won't have to be rewashed. You'll want to soak items with protein (blood, eggs) or fruit stains in cold water. Use detergent or a presoak product. For best results, use detergents for short soaks (up to one-half hour) and presoak products for longer soaks ( 12 hour — overnight). Heavily soiled items can be soaked in warm or hot water.

SPIR OFF MINTS SOAK

After the washer fills, it will agitate for a maximum of three minutes, then stop. After the load has soaked for the desired length of time, turn the timer knob clockwise to "Spin". For the best results, wash clothes immediately after soaking. Turn timer knob clockwise to the beginning of either the regular or permanent press cycle, depending on the items in the load. Measure and add detergent. Close the lid. Select WASH/RINSE temperatures, AGITATION/SPIN speed and WATER LEVEL. Then pull the timer knob out to start the water fill.
