Before You Begin
☐ The valve is sold separately. Please read the instructions packed with the valve for installation procedures.
□ Please read all instructions before you begin.
□ Shut off the main water supply.
□ Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
□ Complete the finished deck material before installing.
☐ Before installation, unpack the new faucet trim and inspect it for damage. Return it to the carton until installation.
☐ Kohler Co. reserves the right to make revisions in the design of faucets without notice, as specified in the Price Book.

Pipe Plug Close Hot Close Cold1. Remove the Plug

WARNING: Risk of personal injury. Lines may be pressurized. Do not lean over the pipe plug when turning or removing the plug.
☐ Make sure the valves are closed (cold = fully counterclockwise; hot = fully clockwise).
□ Turn off the main water supply.
□ Wrap a rag around the pipe plug to prevent water spray.
IMPORTANT! Water may purge from the supply tube when you remove the plug.
□ Carefully remove the pipe plug.

2. Prepare for Spout Installation
□ Remove the plaster guard from the spout supply tube.
☐ Cut off the spout supply tube 1-1/4" (3.2 cm) above the rim, finished deck, or tile.
□ Remove all burrs from the spout supply tube to prevent damage to the O-ring seal on the spout sleeve assembly.
NOTE: The washer is not needed for rim/finished deck installation.
☐ If the installation includes a tile covered rough deck, slide the washer, flat side facing forward, onto the spout supply tube.
NOTE: Before installing the spout sleeve assembly, make sure the O-ring is properly positioned in the groove on the outside of the sleeve.
□ Back off the setscrews in the spout sleeve assembly.
□ With a twisting motion, place the spout sleeve assembly over the spout supply tube and push down to the deck surface.
□ Align the sleeve with the setscrews offset from the center (not facing directly forward or backward) of the spout supply tube.
□ Tighten the setscrews.
□ Purge the supply tube of debris.

CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Use care when installing the spout assembly to prevent damage to the O-ring seal.
☐ Position the spout on the sleeve, and carefully press down until the spout contacts the finished deck.
☐ Rotate the spout until it is aligned to face straight forward.
□ Tighten the setscrew.
☐ Insert the O-ring onto the plug button.
☐ Insert the plug button over the setscrew, flush with the spout surface.

□ Remove the plaster guards.
☐ Close the valves (hot = clockwise, cold = counterclockwise).
□ Install a stem extension onto each valve stem spline. Make sure that the splines are engaged.
☐ Thread a handle assembly onto each valve body. Make sure the splines in the handle and stem extension are engaged.
NOTE: The stem extension allows fine adjustment of the handle alignment. To adjust, remove the handle and reposition the stem extension.
☐ Reinstall the handle and check the alignment. Repeat until the handle alignment is satisfactory.

□ Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant around the bottom of the escutcheon according to the putty manufacturer's instructions.
□ Position the escutcheons over the valves.
□ Install the threaded sleeves to the valves. Securely hand tighten.
☐ Fit the handle assemblies over the valves, and align them so the setscrews are not easily seen. Orient the lever handles with the levers pointing away from the spout in the closed position.
□ Tighten the setscrews.
☐ Press a plug button into each setscrew hole.
□ Remove any excess plumbers putty.

Spout Aerator6. Complete the Installation
☐ Turn off the water (hot = clockwise, cold = counterclockwise).
□ Remove the aerator assembly.
□ Turn on the main water supply and check for leaks.
☐ Turn on the hot and cold valves and run water through the spout to remove debris. Check for leaks.
□ Turn off the hot and cold valves.
□ Reinstall the aerator assembly.
