Please take some time and read this information carefully before using the product.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Risk of injury

We would like to point out that an excess of high volumes and long periods of listening may cause hearing damage. Therefore, use the lowest possible volume levels.

▶ If you suffer from tinnitus, do not use headphones, or reduce the volume.
According to regulations to protect employees against damages caused by noise and vibrations, please follow these instructions:

When connecting the headphones, please ensure that the volume is turned down to minimum. Adjust the volume after putting on the headphones.

Danger to life

Headphones drastically reduce perception of external sounds. Using headphones in road traffic can be potentially dangerous. The user's hearing must not be impaired to the extent that it causes road safety risks. Please also make sure that you do not use the headphones in traffic or within an area of potentially dangerous machines and tools.

Furthermore, avoid using the headphones in situations where hearing must not be affected, especially when crossing a railway crossing or at a construction site.

Liability / intended use

▶ Do not use the headphones for any application which is not described in this product information.
The company beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG accepts no liability for damage to the headphones or injury to persons caused by careless, improper or incorrect use of the headphones, or by use for purposes not specified by the manufacturer.

APPLICATION

The DT 270 PRO is a closed studio headphone, which is suitable for recording and monitoring in the studio as well as on the move.
The detachable cable can be connected to either the left or right ear cup.
The DT 270 PRO provides a balanced, detailed sound with clear highs, present mids and clean bass.
The soft velour ear pads and padded headband ensure a light, secure fit, even if worn for many hours at at time.
The connection cable is fitted with a gold-plated mini stereo jack plug (3.5 mm) with screw-on adapter (6.35 mm) and can be connected to all standard headphone outputs.
For direct connection to devices with a USB-C port, e.g. smartphones, an adapter cable with a USB-C plug and a 3.5 mm jack socket is supplied.

MAINTENANCE

For hygienic reasons, you should occasionally clean the ear pads and headband pad with a soft cloth moistened with water. Make sure that no water drops into the ear cups or transducers.
▶ If necessary, you can carefully remove the ear pads and clean them with mild soapy water.

Never use any solvent or aggressive cleaning agents! Also avoid cleaning agents containing alcohol or acids. Furthermore, the ear pads must be completely dry before they are re-attached to the headphones.

Never use a vacuum cleaner for cleaning the DT 270 PRO, as this may cause irreparable damage.

As ear pads are subject to natural wear and tear, they will need to be replaced from time to time. You can easily do this yourself. Refer also to the "How to change the ear pads" chapter.
▶ If other components must be replaced, please contact your local beyerdynamic representative.

HOW TO CONNECT THE AUDIO CABLE

The connecting cable is fitted with a mini jack plug (3.5 mm) at the end that connects to the headphone.
Connect the cable either to right or left ear cup.

If you want to change the connecting cable, simply pull the cable away from the DT 270 PRO.

At the other end of the connecting cable is a gold-plated mini jack plug (3.5 mm) with a screw-on adapter (6.35 mm).

Connect the stereo jack plug of the cable to a headphone output only! If you connect the DT 270 PRO to any other jack socket, it could be damaged.

HOW TO CONNECT THE USB-C CABLE

The DT 270 PRO comes with a USB-C to mini jack (3.5 mm) adapter cable, allowing you to connect the DT 270 PRO directly to a mobile (e.g. smartphone) or stationary device via USB-C.
At first, unscrew the 6.35 mm jack adapter from the mini jack (3.5 mm) plug.
Then connect the mini jack (3.5 mm) plug to the jack socket of the USB-C cable.

Then connect the USB-C cable to the USB-C port of a device, e.g. a smartphone.

HOW TO CHANGE THE EAR PADS WECHSELN

Carefully pull the ear pad away from the ear cup.

▶ Insert the plastic lip of the ear pad into the groove of the housing and turn the ear pad until it is fully attached.

▶ Turn the attached ear pad a few times, as indicated by the arrow.

HOW TO CHANGE THE HEADBAND PAD

▶ Loosen the screws of the end pieces on both sides of the headphone using a cross-head screwdriver.

Remove the end pieces on both sides.

▶ Use a thin, blunt tool (e.g. a plectrum or plastic spatula) to carefully loosen the clips of the old headband pad. Start at one end of the headband. Once you have loosened a few clips, you can remove the remaining clips by hand.

▶ Position the new pad along the headband and carefully press the clips until the pad is completely and securely attached.

Put the end pieces back on both sides of the headphones and align them correctly.

▶ Reattach the end pieces on the right and left hand side using the screws.
