- “ATTENTION: The cooking process must take place in a controlled manner. A short cooking process must be constantly monitored”.

- This plate is intended exclusively for domestic use or for premises similar to the the domestic environment to cook or keep food warm. Other uses are not permitted

- The appliance was not designed to operate outdoors.

- DANGER OF BURNS: The appliance and its accessible parts become very hot during use and remain hot for some time after having been turned off. Keep children away from the appliance until it has completely cooled down to protect them from the risk of burns. Be very careful not to touch the heating elements. Check that the residual heat indicator is off.

- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and over and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or with a lack of relevant experience and knowledge provided they are supervised or have received instructions for use of the appliance

  • Children under 8 years of age must be kept away if they are not being continuously supervised. Prevent children from playing with the appliance.
  • SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Prevent children from playing with the packaging parts. Some components (such as nylon or polystyrene) can be dangerous if swallowed or placed over the head. Keep the packaging parts away from children.
  • ATTENTION: Do not leave the plate unattended while it is operating. Automatic cooking on the cooking surface with grease or oil can be dangerous and can cause a FIRE. Do not attempt to extinguish a fire with water but instead switch off the appliance and then suffocate the flame with a lid, a damp kitchen cloth or a fire blanket.
  • Do not use the plate to heat the environment. High temperatures can easily ignite inflammable objects nearby.
  • Do not heat closed jars and containers; high pressure develops inside which could cause the container to explode.

EN

SAFETY INSTRUCTION

  • ATTENTION - Fire hazard: do not store objects on the cooking surfaces. If the plate is still hot or switched on due to oversight, the material that covers it may ignite, melt or crack.
  • Do not prepare flambé dishes under the extractor hood. The flames can reach the hood and set it on fire.
  • Do not use the cooking surface during the cleaning phase.
  • Working with the plate it is advisable to protect the hands using suitable knobs or pot holders. The material of the knobs or pot holders must not be wet or damp. In fact, humidity increases thermal conductivity and the risk of burns from the steam that is generated.
  • Do not use coated cutlery as the plate becomes very hot Even if they are heat-resistant and suitable for use with the grill, they are not recommended.
  • Carefully read the instructions provided before installing and using the appliance. The manufacturer is not responsible if the installation or incorrect use of the appliance cause injury or damage.
  • Do not use the cooking surface during the cleaning phase.

  • Never use the steam machine for cleaning of the appliance. The jet of steam could penetrate inside and come into contact with the components causing a short circuit.

  • The appliance is not intended to be used with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
  • If an electric appliance, e.g. a blender, is being used near the plate, make sure that its power cord does not come into contact with the hot plate. The cord insulation may be damaged. Danger of electric shock.
  • If the appliance is mounted behind a unit door, only operate it with the door open. Only close the door when the appliance and the heat indicator lights are off.
  • It is COMPULSORY to install a separator partition between the bottom of the surface and any drawer.
  • If a drawer is located under the appliance, it is advisable not to store flammable objects in it such as spray cans. The drawer cutlery tray, if present, must be made of heat-resistant material.
  • Installation, maintenance and repair work must be carried out by authorised personnel.

If several appliances are installed, do not place hot pots or pans near the slats or above because they can become damaged.

ATTENTION DURING INSTALLATION: Before proceeding with installation inspect the plate for any visible damage. Never place the damaged appliance into operation.

If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains to avoid the possibility of electric shock.

Electrical safety is only guaranteed if the appliance is connected to a compliant protective conductor. It is very important to make sure that this condition is verified as it is fundamental to safety. If in doubt, have the electrical system checked by a qualified electrician.

Before connecting the plate to the mains, be sure to compare the connection data (voltage and frequency) indicated on the rating plate with that of the mains supply. The Teppanyaki uses 2500 watts and it is therefore necessary that your electrical system is able to provide such power without danger. If the data does not match, the appliance may be damaged. If in doubt, contact an electrician.

  • For safety reasons, the plate must only be used if it is recessed and must NOT be used in non-fixed places (e.g. boats).
  • Repairs to be carried out on the appliance when it is still under warranty may only be performed by the technical assistance authorised by the manufacturer, otherwise in the case of any subsequent damage the warranty is no longer valid.
  • Replace any faulty or defective parts with original spare parts; the use only of original spare parts ensures compliance with the safety standards.
  • If it is necessary to replace a damaged power cord, it must be replaced with an equivalent cord (H05GG-F or H05SS-F 3x1.5mm²) available from the after-sales service department. It must also be replaced by the manufacturer, by an authorised technician or by a qualified person to avoid dangerous situations.
  • Never open the plate casing. Any contact with live parts or changes to the electrical or mechanical structures can endanger the user and cause malfunctions.
  • The plug must be accessible after installation.

EN

SAFETY INSTRUCTION

  • Do not connect the appliance to the mains with extensions or multiple sockets, because they do not guarantee the necessary safety (e.g. risk of overheating).
  • If the plug is removed from the cord or the power cord is disconnected, the appliance must be connected to the mains. A qualified electrician must be used who is aware of the local regulations and who performs the work according to legal requirements.
  • To install a plug on the power cord this must support 16 amps to be connected to an outlet.
  • Instead, when the appliance is connected directly to the power supply, a device for omnipolar disconnection is required. The appliance must be completely disconnected from the mains in accordance with the conditions of category III for overvoltage.
  • The Teppanyaki MUST be earthed. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by the absence or interruption of the earthing cable.
  • Periodically check that the cord is intact; in case of faults do not use the appliance and contact the service centre.

  • When connecting the power cord, make sure that it does not reach a temperature above 50°C of the ambient temperature (if necessary, protect it by using insulation sleeves)

  • Make sure that the cord is not crushed or rolled up on itself and does not come into contact with liquids of any kind, sharp objects or corrosive substances.
  • In case of installation, maintenance or repairs, the appliance must be disconnected from the mains:
  • Disconnect the main switch of the electric system
    or
  • Loosen and remove from its place the screw fuse of the electrical installation
    or
  • If present, unplug, being sure to hold the plug and not to pull the electric cord.

EN 1 / INSTALLATION

ATTENTION: if the Teppanyaki malfunctions in any way, disconnect the appliance or remove the fuse corresponding to the sector in which the Teppanyaki is connected.

ASSEMBLY and Fixing to the top

  • Only install the appliance after assembling the wall unit and the extractor hood to avoid damaging it.
  • The worktop veneers must be applied with heat-resistant adhesive (100°C) so that they cannot come off or become deformed. The terminal wall profiles must be heat-resistant.
  • The electrical connection of the appliance must be arranged in such a way that after installation it is easily accessible in case of assistance by the service technician.
  • Installation of the plate above fridges or freezers, dishwashers or washing machines and tumble driers is not permitted.
  • Always observe the safety distances shown on the following pages.
  • Do not use insulation for cracks or insulating mastics unless specifically indicated. The sealing strip of the appliance guarantees sufficient insulation from the worktop (see chapter "General instructions for flush mounting").

All measurements are indicated in mm.

Safety distance

If the plate is installed under an extractor hood, the safety distance indicated by the hood manufacturer must be observed.

In the absence of precise indications or if highly flammable materials (e.g. a shelf) are located above the cooking surface, the safety distance must be at least 760 mm. If different safety distances are indicated in the use and assembly instructions for the various devices located under the extractor hood, e.g. wok burner and electric cooking top, it is advisable to choose the greater of the two (1.1.1)

Side safety distances

When the appliance is recessed, on the side and on the rear wall of the appliance the presence of a tall unit or of a wall is permitted; on the other side, however, it is never possible to place devices or units that are taller than the appliance (see figure).

Given the irradiated temperature, a safety distance of at least 50 mm must be maintained between the notch in the worktop and the rear wall.

The safety distance between the notch in the worktop and the surrounding units, for example a column unit must be 100 mm (1.1.4).

Notch dimensions (1.1.1A)

Dimensions of the appliance: 515 x 380 mm

Sizes of the hole to be cut on the surface of the top 490 x 340 mm

This Teppanyaki was created to be installed in a work top or in a kitchen unit simply by cutting a hole following the corresponding shape shown in "Notch dimensions" Pay attention to the height of the top following the size of the Teppanyaki.

Any support can be suitable: masonry, wood, metal, granite, laminate, etc. respecting the following measurements as high temperatures can modify or damage the materials (1.1.5).

  • If the covering is made of flammable material (e.g. wood), the minimum distance (5) between the worktop and the covering MUST be 50 mm.
  • If the covering is made of non-flammable material (e.g. metal, natural stone, ceramic tiles) the minimum distance (5) between the worktop and the covering must be 50 mm less than the thickness of the covering.

Example: covering thickness 15 mm

50 mm - 15 mm = minimum distance 35.

EN

If the Teppanyaki is recessed above an oven, it is also necessary to prepare a separation panel at least 10 cm away from the base of the surface resting on the top, perforated at the back for passage of the appliance's power supply cord (1.1.2).

Place a sealing strip (S) on the work top taking care not to install it under the edge of the appliance (1.1.8)

Place the appliance above the recessed hole and fix it to the work top, using the four brackets and the corresponding screws supplied with the appliance (1.1.7).

The fastening method must not depend on the use of adhesives as they are not considered reliable fixing means.

Do not use insulation for cracks unless expressly indicated. The sealing strip under the edge of the upper part of the appliance ensures sufficient sealing on the worktop. Never isolate the appliance further (e.g. with silicone).

Gluing the glass top to the worktop can prevent the expansion required during heating and potentially cause the glass to break.

The appliance and the top could become damaged if the appliance were to be removed from the recess hole (1.1.9).

Worktop with Tiles (1.1.10): The slots (1) and the dashed area indicated in the image must be smooth and perfectly level so that the cooking surface frame rests well and the sealing applied under the edge is able to guarantee sufficient sealing.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

The manufacturer states that it assumes no responsibility for direct or indirect damage caused by incorrect recessing of the appliance or by an improper connection.

Furthermore, it is not liable for damage (e.g. electric shock) caused by the absence or interruption of the earthing cable.

After assembly, all parts of the appliance must be insulated so that accidents cannot occur during operation.

  • If the socket is no longer accessible after recessing or if a fixed connection is provided, a separation device must be prepared for each pole by the installer. The circuit breakers that ensure disconnection from the network, with a contact opening distance that allows complete disconnection in the conditions of category III, , in accordance with the installation rules, are used as separation devices.
  • Data required for connection can be found on the data plate whose information must correspond to the mains supply (1.1.11).
    • The power cord MUST NOT:

  • be crushed orrolled up on itself,

  • be extended with extensions,
  • come into contact with sharp or hot objects, with liquids of any kind, and corrosive substances.

Differential switch (circuit breaker)

For greater safety, it is advisable to set up a differential circuit breaker (circuit breaker) with a trip current corresponding to 30 mA. With 100 mA protection, after prolonged shutdown of the device the differential circuit breaker may trip.

Disconnect the appliance from the power supply

To disconnect the appliance from the mains, depending on the installation, proceed as follows:

- Fuses: completely remove the fuses from the threaded caps

or

- Automatic protections press the control button (red), until the central button (black) comes out

DE DIETRICH DPE4400X - - The commands: - 4This "Residual heat" indicator allows checking of the residual heat of the cooking panel.

PRELIMINARY CLEANING:

  • Remove any protective films.
  • Clean the appliance with hot water and a little washing up liquid. Then dry it with a soft cloth.

The first time the heating is switched on, odours are generated. These odours or any fumes are dispersed into the environment shortly thereafter. They are not due to an incorrect connection or to a device defect.

USE OF THE APPLIANCE:

Turning on and off

The plate turns on by turning the knob to the right and turns off by turning the knob to the left.

The knob must not be turned to "0", moving past the position "250"

After turning on the plate, the operating light comes on.

Residual Heat

When the plate is hot, the residual heat indication comes on.

The residual heat indication only goes off when the plate can be touched without the risk of burns.

Do not touch the plate or place on it non-heat resistant objects while the residual heat indication is on. Danger of burns and fire.

Advice for cooking

Before each use, clean the plate with a damp cloth to remove dust or other residues.

  • Preheat the plate for approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Set the power level that will then be used for cooking. Using the power levels it is possible to pre-heat the plate.
  • If cooking meat, the plate must be hot. If the temperature is not high enough, the meat loses too much liquid.
  • Cooking on the plate requires only a little oil while if the dishes are marinated it is not necessary at all. Using the appropriate grease for cooking, this should only be put on the plate after the light has gone out.
  • Use only oils or greases that can be heated to high temperatures.
  • We also recommend marinating the dishes to be cooked because then they become particularly tasty.
  • If the dishes are too moist, to prevent splashes, dry them with a paper towel.
  • Salt the meat only at the end of cooking, otherwise it becomes dry.

The position of the knob is indicative, depending on the type of food and cooking. It can vary depending on the amount used and the personal taste of the consumer.

The teppanyaki can also be used to provide an ideal "large cooking surface" for "low heat - simmering" cooking.

Use an every-day container-pan that is the same size as the cooking surface.

  • Depending on the quantity of food to be cooked, the "slow cooking
  • or simmering" can be adjusted between the positions of 90° and 130°.
  • Cover the pot with a lid to keep the humidity; remove the lid to reduce humidity.

This type of application is ideal for preparing:

- Beef stew / Meat ragout / Meat stew / Baked rabbit in beer / Beef tongue.

Every time after use, make sure that the control knobs are returned to position 0 (2.1.2).

DE DIETRICH DPE4400X - Advice for cooking - 1

Never use steam appliances for cleaning.

The steam could in fact reach the live parts and cause a short circuit

Clean the appliance regularly after use.

Allow the cooking surface to cool. It is advisable to dry the floor after cleaning it with a damp cloth to prevent lime scale residues.

To prevent surfaces from being damaged during cleaning, do not use:

  • detergents containing soda, ammonia, acids or chlorides,
  • anti-scale products
  • products to eliminate stains and rust,
  • abrasive detergents, for example abrasive powders or milk, cleaning pastes
  • solvents,
  • dishwasher detergents,
  • spray for grills and ovens,
  • glass spray
  • abrasive brushes and sponges such as scourges or sponges that still contain residues of abrasive detergents,
  • pointed objects (to avoid damaging the seal between the cooking surface and the work top).

  • When using a stainless steel cleaning product, follow the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Always rinse the surfaces with clean water. This prevents any residues of detergent from coming into contact with the food which will then be cooked on the plate.
  • Remove scraping any solid residue with the aid of a spatula or scraper.
  • Allow the plate to cool to lukewarm, pour a little water into it with dishwashing detergent to soften any encrustations. Remove the encrustations with a spatula and dry with a damp cloth.
  • Then clean the plate with stainless steel cleaner and a damp cloth.
  • Clean the surface with a damp cloth and then dry it with a clean cloth.
  • Never use a steel treatment product for the plate.

- Glass control panel:

Clean regularly with a damp cloth on which to spray a small amount of glass cleaning product.
