- To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or other electric parts in water or other liquids.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug.
- Do not use this appliance outdoors.
- To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Always assure the toaster is OFF (all indicator lights off) and unplug the appliance from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.
- A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. While use of an extension cord is not recommended, if you must use one, the marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord. The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled by children or tripped over.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
- Do not use an outlet or extension cord if the plug fits loosely or if the outlet or extension cord feels hot.
- Do not insert oversized foods, metal foil packages, metal utensils or any metal objects into toaster slots at any time.
- Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
- Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a shock hazard.
- To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit at the same time.
- Keep the cord away from hot parts of the appliance and hot surfaces during operation.

CAUTION
To prevent burns or other personal injuries to children, read and follow all instructions and warnings.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE AROUND CHILDREN
- Close supervision is always necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Do not allow children to operate or be near the toaster, as the outside surfaces are hot during use.
- Do not allow cord to hang over any edge where a child can reach it.

CAUTION
To prevent fire, personal injury or property damage, read and follow all instructions and warnings.

FIRE PRECAUTIONS
- Do not use around or near flammable materials. A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
- Do not leave appliance unattended when in use.
- Failure to clean and replace crumb tray after each use may result in fire hazard.
- Do not toast oversized foods in toaster. Only toast foods that fit loosely in toaster slots.
- Avoid toasting foods with frostings or fillings that may run or that are made with open fillings. Frostings and fillings can catch fire.
- Do not toast pastries, tarts and the like at any setting other than the lowest or lightest setting and never toast twice as these items can ignite if over-heated and cause fire.
- Do not toast buttered foods. Melted butter can cause fire.
- Remove any plastic wrapping from food before toasting.
- Unplug toaster if fire or smoke is observed.

USING YOUR TOASTER
Before using, wipe outside of toaster with a damp soapy cloth, and then dry thoroughly. Operate the toaster the first time without any food in the toaster slots and with the browning setting set to the darkest setting. This will eliminate any residual manufacturing oils.
Basic
- Place toaster on a dry, level, heat-resistant surface, away from any edge or flammable materials.
- Plug cord into 120 volt AC outlet only.
- Place up to two slices of bread, bagels, English muffins, pastry slices (1 piece in each slot), etc., into bread slots.
- Select toast color setting from 1 ^st LED light (light) to 6 ^th LED light (dark). Note: Toaster pastries, tarts and the like can ignite if over-heated. Toast at the lowest/lightest setting with constant attention. Never toast any filled or frosted pastries or the like more than once.
- Press the toast lever down until it locks into place. Toasting cycle will automatically begin. Please note: Toaster must be plugged in for toast lever to lock in place. Toast will automatically pop up and toaster will turn off when the selected color is reached. The toast cycle can be stopped any time by pressing the cancel button. Note: Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
- Unplug the cord from wall outlet when not in use and allow to cool before cleaning.
Bagel Setting: The bagel setting automatically turns off the outside toasting element for each pair of slots. The cut-side of the bagel will be toasted when placed toward the inside of the slots. To use, press toast lever down and press the bagel button. The bagel indicator light will illuminate when activated.
Defrost Setting: The defrost setting will take the bread/frozen pastry from frozen to toasted in one step. To use, press toast lever down and press the defrost button. The defrost indicator light will illuminate when activated.
Cancel Setting: The cancel setting will immediately terminate the toasting cycle; the toast will pop up and the toaster will turn off.
Note: The above settings can only be activated after the toast lever is pushed down and locked.
- Some smoke and/or odor may occur upon first heating due to the release of manufacturing oils – this is normal.
- Some expansion/contraction sounds may occur during heating and cooling – this is normal.
Note: Failure to clean crumb tray may result in fire hazard. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
- Unplug toaster from outlet and allow to cool before cleaning.
- Slide crumb tray out from under toaster, empty and wipe clean with damp cloth if necessary. Replace the crumb tray. Clean crumb tray regularly. Do not allow breadcrumbs to accumulate in bottom of toaster. Wipe the outside surfaces of toaster with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do not use any metal or abrasive scouring pads or cleansers on any toaster surfaces. To clean the inside of toaster, turn toaster upside down over sink and shake crumbs free. TOASTER MUST BE UNPLUGGED.
- Wrap cord around clips on underside of toaster for storage if desired.
