Safety
- This product may be used by children aged 8 and above, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the product and understand the risks that may arise.
- Children must not play with the product.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are 8 years of age or older and are being supervised.
- Batteries, when swallowed, can be life-threatening. You should therefore keep the batteries and scale out of reach of small children. If a battery has been swallowed, medical assistance must be sought immediately.
DANGER for children
- Keep packaging material away from children. There is a risk of choking if swallowed. Also pay attention that children do not pull the packaging material over their heads.
RISK of fire/burning and/or explosion
- There is a risk of explosion if the batteries are replaced improperly. Replace the battery only with the same or a similar type. Pay attention to the "Technical data".
- Batteries must not be recharged, reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into fire, or short-circuited. Otherwise, there is an increased risk of explosion and leakage; furthermore, gases may escape!
- Avoid contact of the battery fluid with skin, eyes, and mucosa. In case of contact, immediately rinse the affected areas with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor.
WARNING of risk of injury
- Do not step onto the outer edge of any one side of the scales. Risk of tipping!
- Do not step onto the scales with wet feet or when its surface is damp. Risk of slipping!
- If the scale falls and shatters, there is a risk of injury from glass splinters.
BEWARE of material damage
- Place the scale on a stable, even surface.
- Do not overload the scale. Pay attention to the "Technical data". Place yourself on the scales exclusively for weighing purposes.
-
Protect the scale from strong shocks and vibrations.
-
Remove the battery from the scale when it is depleted or when you are no longer using the scale. You will thus avoid damage that may result from leakage of battery acid.
- When inserting and changing batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-).
- Do not subject the battery to any extreme conditions, by – for example – storing it on radiators or under direct sunlight. Increased risk of leakage!
- Clean the battery and device contacts, as needed, before inserting the battery.
- Do not make any modifications to the product. Only allow repairs to be carried out by a specialist workshop. Repairs carried out improperly can considerably endanger the user.
- Do not place the scales in the vicinity of devices that may emit electromagnetic radiation, such as mobile phones, wireless devices, or the like. Doing so may lead to incorrect display indicators or malfunctions.
- There are feet on the underside of the scale. Since surfaces are made from various materials and are treated with diverse care products, the possibility cannot be completely excluded that some of these substances contain constituents that attack and soften the feet of the device. If necessary, place a non-slip pad under the scale.

- Try to weigh yourself always at the same time and under consistent conditions in order to obtain comparable values.
Body mass index (BMI)
The scale can determine your personal body mass index (BMI). For more information, see section "What your body mass index means".

- Finally, press SET.
No further input is required to determine your BMI.
If you do nothing else, the scales will automatically switch off after a few seconds.
Determining weight and BMI

A memory cell number will be shown blinking on the display.
- Select the memory cell in which your height is saved using the ▲ or ▼ button. Wait till "0.0" is shown on the display.
- Position yourself on the scales. Remain standing still and do not hold on to anything.
-First the measured weight is displayed.
- Then the memory cell is displayed along with the measured weight.
- Subsequently, you will see your body mass index displayed (see the next section).
The weighing result (weight and BMI) is displayed three times in total. The scale then automatically switches off.
What your body mass index means
The BMI indicates the ratio of height to weight and is only an approximate standard value. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an index of 18.6 to 25 is optimal.
Since men typically have a higher percentage of muscle mass in the total body mass than women do, the age and gender play an important role in interpreting the BMI.
| BMI (kg/m2) Body weight | |
| < 18.5 Underweight | |
| 18.6 - 25 Normal weight | |
| 25.1 - 30 Overweight | |
| 30.1 and above Obesity |
Resetting the scale
Reset the scale to its default settings if unusual or obviously incorrect values are shown on the display.
- Remove the batteries from the battery compartment and wait a moment.
- Reinsert the batteries.
Pay attention to the correct polarity of the batteries (+/-).
After switching the scales on, you can weigh yourself as usual.

NOTE on material damage
-Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquids.
- Do not under any circumstances use harsh, scouring or abrasive cleaning agents or the like to clean the scale. Otherwise, the surface could be scratched.
-Wipe the scale as needed with a slightly damp soft cloth.
- Disinfect the weighing surface from time to time using a suitable disinfecting agent (available at specialist retailers and pharmacies).
