EN The SA-41 is a smoke detector for the detection of fire in the first phase. In case of smoke development, the SA-41 will give a loud alarm tone of at least 85dB (A). The SA-41 can be coupled and then all detectors within a range of max. 20M will give an alarm tone. It is advised to test the smoke detectors every week using the test button on the smoke detectors. Keep this manual in a safe place or in the meter cupboard.
RECOMMENDED MOUNTING PLACES FOR THE SA-41:
- Place at least one smoke detector in the vicinity of the bedrooms. Make sure that an exit remains accessible or choose an escape route. Place the detector where the escape route is, so that the smoke detector would go off before it would become inaccessible.
Make use of several detectors to increase safety in such a way that the escape route remains accessible. - Place at least one smoke detector on each floor of your home.
- Place an Alarm at least in every bedroom where smoking is taking place or where there is equipment that could cause a fire.
Smoke, heat and combustion products will first pull up to the ceiling. After that, the smoke, heat and combustion products will continue horizontally.
If you mount the detector to the ceiling, keep a minimum distance of 50~cm from the wall and 61~cm from a corner. Smoke, heat and combustion products will not get into a corner either.

DO NOT INSTALL IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:
The kitchen; Steam from cooking might give a false alarm.
- The shower or bathroom; water damp might cause a false alarm and the moist environment might damage the detector.
The garage: The car exhaust might cause a false alarm.
- In front of a fan or nearby the exhaust of an air conditioner or heater.
In a ceiling nook.
- In rooms where the temperature could reach below -10^ or beyond 40^ .
- Do not paint or otherwise cover this smoke detector.
INSTALLATION INFORMATION:
Attach the ceiling plate using the included plugs and screws to the ceiling on a location of choice. Wall mounting is not recommended for smoke detection.

Insert the batteries into the detector.

The detector is now ready for use. Do not attach the detector on the ceiling plate until you have successfully connected the smoke detectors.
USING, REGISTERING, TESTING AND MAINTENANCE:
Using: A smoke detector is in operation when the batteries are installed. Make sure the red tab is turned in. This is held in place by the 2x AA batteries. Only when the batteries are installed will the unit be able to be placed on the ceiling plate. When one of the detectors enters the smoke or smoke, the alarm will go off and it will be forwarded to other detectors that will also go off. If the smoke or walm disappears, the alarm will automatically stop. To link with other SA-41 smoke detectors, the smoke detectors must first be logged on to each other. During registration, a code is wirelessly agreed between all smoke detectors. As soon as a smoke detector goes off, it will send this code and other smoke detectors in the neighbourhood will also go off. Please note that only the smoke detectors within a 20 meter radius of the smoke detecting smoke detector will sound.

Connecting:
Connect the smoke detectors to each other before installing the smoke detectors on the ceiling.
1) Take one of the smoke detectors.
2) Press and hold the button for 12 seconds until the light stops flashing and stays on. Now release immediately. (Repeat this step if the lamp starts flashing quickly). The light will now remain on for 30 seconds.
3) During this time, briefly press the button on another SA-41 smoke detector, and release it immediately when the lamp lights up. If registration is successful, the lights on both detectors will flash briefly.
4) Repeat step 3 for other smoke detectors you want to pair. You have another 30 seconds to do this.
5) Briefly press the button of the first alarm to stop the register procedure.
The maximum distance between each unit is 20 meters. Alarms that are outside this distance from a logged in Smoke Alarm will not alarm if it detects a fire.
If you want to link an additional SA-41 later, you will need to repeat the entire registration process for all smoke detectors.
Time-out function:
This function will disable the alarm for approximately 10 minutes. This function can be activated by pressing the button once. The indicator light will light up ± every 8 seconds to indicate that the sound has been temporarily muted. After 10 minutes, the alarm will be reactivated.
Test: The alarm is very loud (>85dB). We recommend using hearing protection when testing the smoke detectors. By pressing the test button on the SA-41 the alarm can be tested.
1) Test a single alarm: Press the test button for at least 2 seconds. Operation is correct for 2 or 3 signal tones. Then the alarm is still working correctly.
2) Test all alarms: If you keep the test button pressed for a longer time (30 sec.), the connected smoke detectors within range will give an alarm to indicate that the connection is OK. It may take up to 60 seconds for the other detectors to receive the signal. The button must also be held down for this time.
If the connection does not work after 90 seconds of pressing and holding the test button, make sure that there are other devices nearby that work with a radio connection and may cause interference.
If a single detector's test does not work, check the battery. If it does not work with a new battery, replace the appropriate Smoke Alarm.
The test function does not work if the time-out function is enabled. Check the detectors every week. In alarm status, the smoke detectors generate at least 85dB(A) of sound pressure. Do not test the smoke detectors with candles, open flames, cigarettes, or the like.
ATTENTION:
If there are questions about the cause of an ALARM, assume that the alarm is caused by a fire and immediately evacuate the home.
Keep smoke detectors out of the reach of children.
During construction and renovation work, protect the smoke detectors from dust. Without protection, the smoke detectors lose their functionality.
Maintenance: The smoke detector is maintenance-free. In very dusty rooms they may be cleaned by vacuum.
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF CONNECTABLE SMOKE DETECTORS:
It is recommended to register a maximum of 9 smoke detectors on each other.
Please note that the smoke detectors within a maximum radius of 20M from where an alarm comes from will sound.
Plan an escape route:
Make a map and mark all locations of doors and windows and a possible escape route. Note that you may need an escape ladder on high floors.
- Ensure everyone in the house knows the sound the smoke alarms produce and regularly practice use of the escape route.
- Leave the house immediately according to the plan when hearing the alarm. Every second counts: so respond quickly. If you do not notice smoke or heat, check if everyone in the house is in a secure location.
Do not open any doors without feeling wether the door is warm or if there is smoke coming from underneath the doors. If it is, do not open that door. If the door is cold, put your shoulder firmly against the door and open it a small amount to check for any heat or smoke first.
If there is much smoke, keep low and take shallow breaths, preferably through a moist towel. Call the fire department as soon as you are safe outside.
Replacing the batteries: The detectors are supplied using 2x AA batteries. Only use the recommended types:
- Energizer E91
Gold Peak Group GP15A - Raymax LR6
Under normal conditions the battery will last at least one year. If it is about to need replacement, the smoke detector will make a chirping sound every 40 seconds for at least 30 days. Pay attention to the polarity when replacing batteries. Test the detector after every battery replacement. If the smoke detector does not function, please contact your supplier.
Environment: Do not throw away used batteries, but recycle them using your local chemical depot.
Product may not be thrown out as normal waste, but must be recycled as electrical waste.
