Top Digital Video Baby Monitor Digital technology: Higher privacy standards – Zero inter- ference Top Digital Video Baby Monitor The Top Digital Video Baby Monitor al- lows you to see your child at all times and communicate with them thanks to two-way communication. Using the large (3-inch) touchscreen display, you can access the internal menu and enlarge the image of the child up to twice the normal size, thanks to the video camera’s digital zoom, set the date, time, 5 reminders and voice ac- tivation and select the brightness of the image on the display. In addition, you can organise the unit’s internal contact list in which you can store useful numbers. The child unit allows you to play 6 stored lullabies or your preferred music by connecting to an MP3 player (not included) via the au- dio cable (included in the package), to display the temperature reading in the baby’s room and to reassure the baby during sleep thanks to the small night light. The ability to take pictures and record videos allows you to store and relive the most memorable moments of your child’s growth on the parent unit. The digital technology ensures zero interference* and exclusivity of com- munication between the units. Both units (parent and child) can run on batteries (including a rechargeable lithium battery for the parent unit) or by means of the mains adapter (two included). • The maximum operating distance is around 150 metres in an open space without obstacles (this range could be reduced considerably indoors accord- ing to particular environmental situ- ations: the layout of walls and furni- ture, the presence of metal structures, electromagnetic fields/disturbances of internal or external origin, rein- forced concrete walls, when rooms are located on different floors or because batteries are not fully charged etc.).
  • When the child unit and/or parent unit are powered with alkaline batter- ies and/or the rechargeable lithium- ion battery, the product will stop working if the charging level is not sufficient. It is therefore always advis- able to check the charging level of the alkaline batteries and/or rechargeable lithium-ion battery when switching on both units.
  • In the event of a sudden electricity outage, when the parent unit (primar- ily in receiver mode) is being powered with the provided mains adapter, the product will only stop working if the charging level of the rechargeable lith- ium-ion battery is not sufficient or the battery is not inserted in the battery compartment. It is therefore always advisable to check the charging level or installation.
  • Do not use the child unit (primar- ily in image and sound transmitter mode), the parent unit (primarily in image and sound receiver mode), the rechargeable lithium-ion battery and the adapters in positions exposed to the elements (rain, sun etc.). When- ever using the unit outdoors, the child unit (primarily in image and sound transmitter mode) and the parent unit (primarily in image and sound re- ceiver mode) must be powered using the internal alkaline batteries and/or the rechargeable lithium-ion battery:8

the mains adapters supplied with the product are not suitable for outdoor use.

  • To prevent overheating, keep the child unit (primarily in image and sound transmitter mode), the parent unit (primarily in image and sound receiver mode), the rechargeable lithium-ion battery and, especially, the AC/DC mains adapters away from sources of heat, for example radiators, thermostats, stoves, cookers, sunny windows etc.
  • Never (especially if connected to the mains via the mains adapters) use the two units close to areas or situations where water is found, such as bath- tubs, washing machines, kitchen sinks or wet surfaces. Do not immerse or wet the units. Do not use the units and adapters if they have fallen in water. In this case, contact skilled technical personnel.
  • Keep the child unit (primarily in im- age and sound transmitter mode), the parent unit (primarily in image and sound receiver mode) and the AC/ DC mains adapters so as to allow ad- equate ventilation and to prevent the risk of components overheating.
  • Do not use this product near uo- rescent lamps (neon) or other elec- trical appliances such as televisions, motors, personal computers, cordless telephones, DECT cordless phones etc. Doing so could interfere with its operation.
  • Only use the AC/DC mains adapt- ers supplied with the product or an identical type with the same electrical characteristics. Use of other adapters could damage the child unit and/or parent unit and cause danger to the user.
  • Adapter power cords cannot be re- placed and, therefore, in case of dam- age, do not continue to use the mains adapter but replace it with an identical type adapter. Caution: do not use a mains adapter different from the one supplied with this Artsana S.p.A. product, as doing so renders the product non-compliant with technical standard specifications established by the relevant EC direc- tives affecting product safety and in- tegrity. Contact the retailer or Artsana S.p.A. to replace.
  • Ensure that the AC/DC mains adapt- er voltage (see data plate located on the AC/DC mains adapters) matches that of the mains electricity and that the mains adapter plug is compatible with your electrical system sockets.
  • Connect the AC/DC mains adapt- ers to easily accessible power outlets which are, however, out of reach of children. Position the AC/DC mains adapter cords so as to prevent the cord from being walked on, from get- ting caught in items placed upon or against them, or from being accessible to the child and therefore constituting a risk (tripping, choking).
  • The AC/DC mains adapters, the child unit (primarily in image and sound transmitter mode) and the parent unit (primarily in image and sound receiver mode) may be become hot to the touch when in use. This is normal.
  • Always disconnect the AC/DC mains adapters from the power socket when the appliance is not in use.
  • The replacement of the alkaline bat- teries or the rechargeable lithium-ion battery must always be carried out only by an adult and with alkaline or rechargeable batteries having the same characteristics as those men- tioned in this instruction manual.
  • The child unit (primarily in image and sound transmitter mode) is equipped with a light-sensitive sensor that au- tomatically activates the infrared LEDs in the event of reduced ambient light or darkness, thus allowing view- ing in low light conditions. Since the infrared LEDs on the child unit (primarily in image and sound transmitter mode) do not emit visible light, test correct operation by check- ing the image transmitted from the video camera to the parent unit when the child unit is positioned in a dimly lit room.
  • The infrared LEDs on the child unit (primarily in image and sound trans- mitter mode) are not harmful to health. CAUTION! It is advisable to avoid looking at the infrared radiation along the beam axis with the naked eye or using optical ap- pliances. CAUTION!
