Factory Radio Removal Keys
120 86-9001
- Disconnect negative battery cable to prevent any electrical short.
- Identify right and left keys by markings "R" and "L" (Figure 1).
- Note applications of each key (Figure 1). This instruction sheet illustrates Volkswagen Beetle, Jetta and Passat.
- Check key slots on face of factory radio.
If slots in radio face are vertical: Select the vertical keys. Slide keys into slots until they click into place (Figure 2). Pull out radio, disconnect wiring harness and antenna to remove.
If slots in radio face are horizontal: Select horizontal keys (the most pointed). Slide keys into slot until they click into place (Figure 3). Pull out radio, disconnect wiring harness and antenna to remove.
Note: Some tall factory units will have four slots and will require two sets of keys (Figure 4).
