Häufig gestellte Fragen - UPGP SMEG

Wie installiere ich den Glasspritzschutz / die Rückwand?

Die Installation erfolgt in mehreren Schritten: Zuerst die Abmessungen prüfen. Sicherstellen, dass die Oberfläche flach, trocken und staubfrei ist. Dann die Rückseite des Spritzschutzes gegen die Wand halten und mit Abstandshaltern (2 mm) den korrekten Sitz prüfen. Anschließend die Schutzfolie von der Klebeseite entfernen, den Spritzschutz auf die Abstandshalter setzen und gleichmäßig andrücken. Nach 2-3 Stunden die Abstandshalter entfernen und die Kanten mit einer Silikonfuge von mindestens 2,5 mm Dicke versiegeln.

Welchen Kleber benötige ich für die Montage?

Verwenden Sie ausschließlich Niedrigmodularen Neutralvernetzenden Silikon nach BS 5889 A. Andere Klebstoffe können die Glasoberfläche beschädigen. Das Silikon wird mit einer Kartuschenpresse aufgetragen.

Wie lange muss das Silikon aushärten?

Die Aushärtezeit des Silikons richtet sich nach den Herstellerangaben des verwendeten Produkts. In der Regel dauert es 24 Stunden, bis das Silikon vollständig ausgehärtet ist. Benutzen Sie den Spritzschutz in dieser Zeit nicht.

Kann ich den Spritzschutz auf eine unebene Wand kleben?

Die Oberfläche muss flach, nicht porös, trocken und staubfrei sein. Höhenunterschiede von mehr als 5 mm sollten vor der Montage mit Silikon ausgeglichen werden. Bei größeren Unebenheiten ist die Montage nicht zu empfehlen.

Welche Reinigungsmittel sind geeignet?

Verwenden Sie heißes Wasser mit einem milden Spülmittel. Keine scheuernden Reiniger oder Scheuermittel, da diese die Glasoberfläche zerkratzen können. Trocknen Sie das Glas nach der Reinigung mit einem weichen Tuch.

Kann ich Löcher in den Spritzschutz bohren?

Bohrarbeiten sollten nur von fachkundigem Personal mit geeigneten Maschinen durchgeführt werden, da das Glas brechen kann. Verwenden Sie spezielle Glasbohrer und arbeiten Sie mit Kühlung.

Wie vermeide ich Risse im Glas?

Behandeln Sie das Glas vor der Montage vorsichtig und lagern Sie es nicht auf harten Oberflächen. Besonders die Ecken sind stoßempfindlich. Verwenden Sie die mitgelieferten Abstandshalter und lassen Sie einen Spalt von 2 mm, der mit Silikon gefüllt wird, um Spannungen zu vermeiden.

Was tun, wenn der Spritzschutz nicht passt?

Vor der Montage prüfen, ob die Abmessungen korrekt sind. Der Spritzschutz ist maßgefertigt; bei Abweichungen kontaktieren Sie den Händler. Zurückschneiden ist nicht möglich, da das Glas gehärtet ist und brechen würde.

Sind Abstandshalter im Lieferumfang enthalten?

Ja, die Verpackung enthält Abstandshalter mit einer Stärke von 2 mm. Diese werden während der Montage verwendet und nach 2-3 Stunden entfernt.

Kann ich den Spritzschutz selbst schneiden?

Nein, das Glas ist gehärtet und kann nach der Herstellung nicht mehr bearbeitet werden. Jegliche Schneide- oder Bohrarbeiten sollten nur von Fachleuten vor der Härtung durchgeführt werden. Bestellen Sie den Spritzschutz in der passenden Größe.

HOW TO INSTALL YOUR GLASS SPLASHBACK / UPSTAND

BEFORE STARTING:

• Check that you have all the tools needed (see overleaf).

FITTING STEPS – SPLASHBACKS / UPSTANDS

First check the dimensions.

Ensure the surface being fixed to is flat, non-porous, dry and dust free.

Hold up the back of the splashback/upstand to the worktop/ wall to check fit. Use the spacers to achieve a good fit.

Take the splashback/ upstands away making sure to keep all corners safe from hard surfaces and then remove the covering from self adhesive backing. Fit the splashback on top of the spacers.

Place the bottom edge of the splashback/ upstand on the spacers, then push the splashback/ upstand to the wall and apply firm pressure evenly over the whole surface area. Ensure that a 2mm space is left. Finally (2-3 hours) remove spacers.

Seal the edges of the splashback/upstand with a bead of silicone sealant not less than 2.5 mm in thickness.

Complete the surrounding wall covering.

ASSEMBLY GUIDE - SPLASHBACKS / UPSTANDS

IMPORTANT

Unfitted glass is fragile. Do not place on hard surfaces prior to fitting. Special care should be taken with the corners of the product as impact will cause the product to crack.

CHECK LIST

• Do you have everything you need to start the job?
• Check that the splashback / upstands fits.
• Is it the right colour?
• Ensure that your worktop is fitted securely.
• Check that your worktop is level.
• Clear all dust from the worktop.

- Ensure that your hob is fitted in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

- Make sure that your extractor is securely fitted in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

DO NOT

• Fit the splashback / upstands directly onto a hob or work surface - use spacers.
• Place the splashback / upstands on its edge or on any hard surface during the fitting process.
• Use the product until the silicone has cured (follow the manufacturer's instructions).

To prevent product failures ensure that:

• All fitting steps are completed.
• A space of 2mm is left between the product and all surfaces. The gaps must be filled with silicone.
• The surface to which the product is applied is flat, variations in level in excess of 5mm should be packed with silicone prior to fitting.
• You do not use any form of adhesive other than silicone as certain adhesives will degrade the finish of the glass.

SAFE HANDLING OF GLASS

All products are supplied with a safety packing but we recommend that glass is handled with care and in particular eye protection and suitable gloves should be worn.

AFTER CARE

Do not use abrasive cleaners. For the best results use hot water with a mild soap detergent.
