RECOMMENDED COOKING TIMES
Cooking times are approximate times. Use these as general guidelines. Times may need to be adjusted for your own preference or due to the size and quality of food ingredients used.
When unsure of how long to cook food for, start with the shortest cooking time, as you can always continue cooking for additional time.
Vegetables cook very quickly in the pressure cooker. You may want to use a pressure cooking rack to elevate them above the cooking liquid.
Move the Pressure Limiting device to the "Exhaust" position to release the pressured steam until the Floating valve sinks. A wet towel can be placed on the Lid to increase the speed of cool down.
If you are using recipes from another source that calls for a low pressure setting, it is recommended that the cooking time be decreased by 1/3.
If you are using frozen meats and poultry, it is suggested that you add ten minutes of cooking time for every inch of thickness.
When cooking poultry, be sure to use a meat thermometer after cooking to check that the internal temperature has reached 180 degrees.
All pressure cooking modes require the addition of liquid in some form (water, stock, etc.). Unless you are familiar with the pressure cooking process, follow recipes carefully for liquid addition suggestions.
| Vegetables | Liquid | Cook Time (Minutes) |
| Artichokes, whole | 1 cup | 13-17 |
| Asparagus, whole | 12 cup | 1-2 |
| Beans, fresh green or wax, shelled lima | covered, plus 1tbs oil | 2-3 |
| Beets 1/4" slices | 12 cup | 3-4 |
| Broccoli, florets or spears | 12 cup | 2-3 |
| Brussel sprouts, whole | 12 cup | 3-4 |
| Cabbage, quartered | covered | 3-4 |
| Carrots, 1/4" slices | 12 cup | 1-2 |
| Cauliflower, florets | 12 cup | 2-4 |
| Corn on the cob | 1 cup | 2-4 |
| Eggplant, 1 1/4" | 12 cup | 2-3 |
| Peas, shelled | 12 cup | 1-11/2 |
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including:
- Read and follow all instructions carefully.
- Always be sure the floater valve is on correctly before use. Incorrect assembly may prevent the cooker from building pressure or allow steam to come out from the sides of the lid.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against electric shock do not immerse or rinse cords or plugs in water or other liquid.
- This appliance should never be operated by children and special care should be taken when the unit is in use in their presence.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- Do not use any attachments or utensils that were not recommended or supplied by the manufacturer. The use of attachments not recommended for use by the manufacturer may cause serious hazardous situations including personal injury.

- Never fill the unit above the MAX LINE in the Inner Pot (Part List 6, page 4). When using foods that expand during cooking such as rice or dried beans, follow the recipe for "pressure cooking" those products, and as a rule of thumb, do not fill the unit above the "halfway" point. Overfilling may cause clogging, allowing excess pressure to develop. See Instructions For Use.
- Be aware that certain foods, such as applesauce, cranberries, pearl barley, oatmeal or other cereals, split peas, noodles, macaroni, rhubarb, and spaghetti, can foam, froth, sputter, and clog the pressure limiting valve (steam vent). Recipes using these items must be followed carefully to avoid problems.
- Always check the pressure limiting valve for clogging before use.
- Do not open the pressure cooker until the unit has cooled and all internal pressure has been released. If the unit is difficult to open, this indicates that the cooker is still pressurized – do not force it open. Any pressure in the cooker can be hazardous. See Instructions For Use.
21 Do not use this pressure cooker for pressure frying with oil - This appliance has been designed for use with a 3 prong, grounded, 120V electrical outlet only. Do not use any other electrical outlet.

PRODUCT FEATURES
Special Features
- The Digital Display on your Pressure Cooker offers a wide range of one touch cooking options.
- Cooking Time may be adjusted to suit different recipes or personal preference. At the completion of the cooking cycle, the unit will automatically shift to the KEEP WARM mode.
- Cooking Electronically with Pressure saves time and energy. For example, rice dishes cook 20% quicker and save 25% on energy. Most other dishes average a 40% time saving and 45% on energy.
- Digital Pressure Cooking utilizes temperatures up to 248°F (120°C) creating a more sterile and healthier environment when compared to traditional cooking methods.
- This Pressure Cooker creates a "sealed environment" that preserves flavor and "locks in" valuable vitamins and nutrients.
- Hot kitchens, messy spills and "boil-over" are a thing of the past.
- The Pressure Limiting Valve allows you to lower pressure quickly and completely. To do so, carefully turn the Pressure Limiting Valve to the Exhaust position. Wait until all pressure has escaped and the digital pressure indicator does not register. CAUTION: During this process protect your skin from any contact with escaping steam.
- The KEEP WARM mode holds and keeps cooked food warm for an unlimited period of time. Foods kept at KEEP WARM mode for periods beyond 4 hours may lose their good flavor and texture.
Built-In Safety Features
- Lid Safety Device: Prevents pressure build-up if lid is not closed properly and prevents lid from opening until all pressure is released.
- Pressure and Temperature Sensor Controls: Maintain even heat and pressure by automatically activating or deactivating the power supply.
- "Back-up" Safety Release Valve: Should the Temperature/Pressure Sensor device malfunction, causing pressure to build beyond maximum setting, the "Back-Up" will automatically "kick in" and release the built up pressure.
- "Clog Resistant" Feature: Prevents food from blocking the steam release port.
- "Spring-Loaded" Safety Pressure Release: Should all safety features listed above fail, this "spring-loaded" device located beneath the heating element will automatically lower the Inner Pot, causing it to separate automatically from the Rubber Gasket. This will enable the steam and pressure to automatically escape around the pot Lid, avoiding a dangerous situation.
- Temperature "Cut-Off" Device: Should the unit malfunction and cause the internal temperature to rise beyond the "Safe" limit, this device will cutoff the power supply and will not automatically reset.
- Safety Valve: Allows excess pressure to escape if too much pressure is building up.

For liquid food (Stews, soups, pomidges, etc.), the Pressure Limiting Valve cannot be moved to the "Exhaust" position to release the pressure. This is to avoid the fluid from the food from splattering out of the vent holes. You should wait for the temperature to drop and the Floating Valve to sink on its own before attempting to open the lid and serve your food. A wet towel can be placed on the Lid to increase the speed of cool down.
CAUTION
When turning the Pressure Limiting Valve to the "Exhaust" position, hot steam/liquid will be released. DO NOT put your hands or face near the unit and steam vents when turning the Pressure Limiting Valve to the Exhaust position or at any time while steam is being released. USE AN OVEN MITT.
DO NOT attempt to open the lid while the unit is operating. DO NOT attempt to open the lid until the unit has cooled and all internal pressure has been released. If the lid is difficult to open, this is an indication that the unit is still pressurized, and you will see that the Floating Valve is still in a raised position. DO NOT force the lid to open as this may be hazardous. The lid will only open once all pressure is released.
Open the lid by lifting it away from you to avoid being burned by escaping steam. Use oven mitts when removing the inner pot or touching any hot items.
COOKING TIMES
The quick touch options and recipe times should be used as a guide. Pressure cooking times can vary depending on the quality and individual piece sizes of the food being cooked. Check to make sure that your food has reached the desired doneness. You can always continue cooking for a few additional minutes if need be.
