Cleaning

Banax Lexima LX 105 - Cleaning - 1

1 Lightly rinse all parts of the reel including spool with freshwater to remove salt, sand or debris.

② Wipe down with a soft rags, sponge or towel after rinsing. ③ Dry reel in the shade. Now it's ready to lubricate your reels

Tips

Do not wind a handle while the spool is removed, it could cause damage gear assembly.

② Be careful not to get your fingers caught between the level winder and body, it could damage clutch and/or stopper.

Do not wind a handle while thumb bar is not fully depressed (half-clutch).

4 If the fishing line is thinner than recommended, a line could get jammed between spool and body.

4 The starting point for the cast should be with the rod back over your shoulder, roughly in the two o'clock position. The release point (thumb off spool) should be approx. at the eleven o'clock point.

⑤ As the lure makes contact with the water, thumb the spool to a dead stop to prevent backlash. Then crank the handle to engage the retrieve mechanism.

Banax Lexima LX 105 - Magnetic brake system - 2

The brake system using the magnetic field of the magnets with the spool rotation in the side cover attached to the spool. You can adjust the braking force at step 0 to 10 by control dial on palm side cover. The higher the strength of the magnetic field provides a higher braking force which prevents backlash. You can adjust the dial In the proper step regarding to the lure weight and various fishing conditions. The magnetic brake system prevents the backlash without complicated setting because the magnetic force is continuously generated all the time.

Internal centrifugal brake system

① The friction between the brake shoes on the spool side and brake ring prevents the backlash.
② You can adjust brake force up to 7 steps (0-6 step).
③ By stepping up the exposed brake shoes, the brake force is increased proportional to the friction generated between brake shoes and brake ring.

External centrifugal brake system

1 External centrifugal brake can be easily adjusted up to 4 step from the control dial on palm side cover.
2 Free step: Brake free with zero brake shoe.
3 step: Brake force occurred by the friction between 3 brake shoes and brake ring.
④ 6 step: Brake force occurred by the friction between 6 brake shoes and brake ring.
5 9 step: Brake force occurred by the friction between 9 brake shoes and brake ring.
6 By stepping up the exposed brake shoe, the brake force is increased proportional to the friction generated between brake shoes and brake ring.

Adjustment of Twin Brake System
Banax Lexima LX 105 - Adjustment of Internal / External Centrifugal Brake - 4

natural_image Technical illustration of internal centrifugal and magnetic holder components (no text or symbols)

Twin brake system is an effective system combined with centrifugal and magnetic brake system. In the early casting, centrifugal brake force is largely generated to prevent early backlash. In the second half casting, magnetic brake force is largely generated to prevent later backlash.

Twin brake system can adjust the brake force up to max. 77 step, thus allows you best casting performance in various fishing situations.

Note:

① In case of centrifugal brake, often enough to have an oiling with cotton swabs on the inside of brake ring. ② If there is no oil on the brake ring, it could cause defects on brake performance.

Adjustment of Tension knob

Banax Lexima LX 105 - Adjustment of Tension knob - 1

natural_image Technical line drawing of a mechanical component with no visible text or symbols

Tension knob is used to add the proper amount of friction to the spool rotation. Turn the tension knob clockwise to increase friction, counter-clockwise to decrease friction. You can also reduce the occurrence of backlash by the proper setting of tension knob which control the spool rotation.

Brake setting step

Considering the lure weight, adjust the tension knob to high-level friction as the first step. Once you get used to cast, try increasing the casting distance by reducing the tension knob setting.

Open the side cover and clean the inner ball bearing, brake ring and washer, and then oil each part. In case of centrifugal brakes, please make sure that the oil does not flow on the entire inner brake ring.

Cleaners: cotton swabs, tooth brush, paper towels or soft rags

Banax Lexima LX 105 - Brake setting step - 3

Remove spool assembly. Clean spool assembly and shaft with toothbrush or cotton swabs. Oil ball bearing and spool shaft. Lightly oil on both side of end face of the spool shaft.

Note:
① Do not grease spool shaft, it could affect free-spool adversely.

Tension knob, ball bearing, washer
Banax Lexima LX 105 - Brake setting step - 4

Remove tension knob. Grease washer at inside of tension knob. Clean and oil ball bearing for optimal free-spool and casting performance.

Note:

1 Do not oil drag washer, it could affect decreasing of drag power. 2 Excess oil and grease could affect reel performance adversely. Apply a few drops of oil

3 Regular oiling will increase the life expectancy of your reels. 4 Use low viscosity oil and grease designed for reels.
