PRECAUTIONS
Follow the advice below for safe and appropriate operations.
ON PLACEMENT
- Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty, or humid.
Place the unit on a flat and even surface. - Do not restrict the air flow of the unit by placing it in a place with poor air flow, by covering it with a cloth, or by placing it on a carpet.
ON SAFETY
- When connecting and disconnecting the AC cord, grip the plug and not the cord itself. Pulling the cord may damage it and create hazard.
- When you are not going to use the unit for a long period of time, disconnect the AC power cord.
ON AC VOLTAGE
• Before use, check that the rated voltage of your unit matches your local voltage.
ON CONDENSATION
- When left in a heated room where it is warm and damp, water droplets or condensation may form inside the CD player.
- When there is condensation inside the unit, the unit may not function normally.
- Let it stand for 1 to 2 hours before turning the power on, or gradually heat the room up and dry the unit before use.
- Ensure a minimum distance of 5 cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation.
- Ensure that the ventilation is not impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc..
- Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles on the apparatus.
• Take attention to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
- Use the apparatus only in moderate climates (not in tropical climates).
• Do not expose the apparatus to dripping or splashing.
• Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus.
Should any trouble occur, disconnect the AC power cord and refer servicing to qualified personnel.

POWER SUPPLY
USING HOUSE CURRENT
Before use, check that the rated voltage of your unit matches your local voltage.
Note: plug is used as the disconnect device.
the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
USING BATTERIES
Disconnect the AC power cord from the AC inlet of the unit. Battery power is cut automatically by the cord while it is connected.
When the volume decrease, or the sound distorts, replace all of the batteries with new ones.

TURN ON / OFF THE SYSTEM
Press the POWER/ ⏻ STANDBY button to turn the audio on. To change the audio mode between,
CD, UDISK, SD/MMC, AUX and TUNER, press the FUNCTION button while the power is on.
The audio mode will be displayed.
Power will be cut off automatically when the CD, MP3 and USB functions are in stop mode for 15 minutes.

POWER / STANDBY
ADJUSTING THE SOUND

Press volume +/- to adjust the volume level. Volume level is shown on the display.
FOR PRIVATE LISTENING
Plug headphones (ø3.5 mm stereo mini-plug) into PHONES jack. When headphones are plugged in, speakers will automatically be disconnected.
TUNER OPERATION
Tuning a RADIO Station
- Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until "TUNER" is shown.
FUNCTION

- Press the BAND / FOLDER button again to select the desired frequency band ( FM or AM ).


- Press the ▶▶▶F - SKIP or ▶◀◀B - SKIP button as many times as required to tune into the desired station.

Press and hold the ▶▶F - SKIP or ▶◀◀B - SKIP button for more than 1 second, scanning starts automatically and the tuner will stop at the first receivable broadcast station.
-
To stop auto tuning, press the ▶ F - SKIP or ◀◀◀ B - SKIP button again.
Selecting FM Stereo/Mono mode
- To select FM stereo/mono mode, press the STEREO/MONO button on the unit or remote control.

- The "STEREO" icon will be on when the received
station is broadcasted in Stereo.

To select mono mode, press STEREO / MONO button again.
-
The "STEREO" icon will never turn on in FM MONO mode.

- Tune to a desired radio station.
- Press the PROGRAM / MEMORY / CLK - ADJ. button to enter tuning saving mode.
The "MEMORY" icon will be on.
- Program number "01" will be flashing on the left hand side.
- Within 10 seconds, press the RANDOM/P- or REPEAT/P+ button to select the desired program number.
- Press the PROGRAM / MEMORY / CLK - ADJ . button to confirm.
- If there is no button pressed within 10 seconds, it will exit tuning save mode and the "MEMORY" icon will be off.

COMPACT DISC PLAYBACK
- Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until "CD" is shown on display.
- Insert a disc with the label side facing up.
- Close the CD door, the disc will rotate.
For CD : The total tracks of the disc will show on the display.
For MP3/WMA/USB : The total tracks of the disc and the total number of the folders will be shown on the display.
TO INTERRUPT PLAYBACK
Press the ▶PLAY/PAUSE button. Press the button again to resume playback.
For CD : Track number "001" & "CD" will be shown, the time of the track "00:00" will flash, during normal compact disc playback.
For MP3 : Track number "001" & "MP3" will be shown, the time of the track "00:00" will flash, during MP3 playback.
For WMA : Track number "001" & "WMA" will be shown, the time of the track "00:00" will flash, during WMA playback.
For USB : Track number "001" & "USB" will be shown, the time of the track "00:00" will flash, during USB playback.

TO SKIP TO THE BEGINNING OF A TRACK
- Press either one of the |◀◀▶▶| skip buttons according to the desired skip direction.
- Play/back resumes from the selected track.
- When the ◀ button is pressed twice during playback, the previous track will start again.

When the ▶ button is pressed once during playback, the next track will be played.
-
Lift the CD door up, by pressing at the right side of the CD door.

CD display

- After disc reading is finished, the disc will be played automatically. In stop mode, press the ▶I PLAY / PAUSE button to play the track.
For CD : Track number "001" & "CD" & "00:00" will be shown, during normal compact disc playback.
For MP3 : Track number "F01" & "MP3" & "00:00" will be shown, during MP3 playback.
For WMA: Track number "F01" & "WMA" & "00:00" will be shown, during WMA playback.
For USB : Track number "F01" & "USB" & "00:00" will be shown, during USB playback.

TO STOP PLAYBACK
Press the ■ STOP button.
For CD : The total number of tracks and time will be shown.
For MP3 : The total number of tracks and folder will be shown.
For WMA : The total number of tracks and folder will be shown.

SEARCHING FOR A PASSAGE WITHIN A TRACK
- Keep the ◀◀ or ▶▶ button pressed during playback, and release the button as soon as you recognise the desired passage. Then the normal CD playback will resume from this point.
PLAYING TRACKS IN RANDOM ORDER
- If the RANDOM / P - button is pressed, the tracks on the discs are not played in consecutive order but in random order. The word RAND appears on the display to provide a visual reminder that the RAND function has been activated.
- Press the RANDOM / P - button to switch off the RAND function.

Press the REPEAT / P + button during stop mode.
For CD : The total number of tracks and time will be shown.
For MP3/WMA/USB: The total number of tracks and folders will be shown.

Note on CD-R/RW discs
- Because of non-standardized format definition/ the display shows production of CD-R/RW, playback quality and performance are not guaranteed.
- Manufacturer is not responsible for the playability of CD-R/RW due to recording conditions, such as PC performance, writing software, media ability, etc.
- Do not attach a seal or label to either side of the CD-R/RW disc. It may cause a malfunction.
- It is recommended to record only audio files on CD-R/RW discs for easy reading.

PROGRAMMED CD / USB / SD / MMC OPERATION
FOR NORMAL COMPACT DISC PLAYBACK
Programmed playback enables tracks on a disc to be played in a desired order. Up to 20 tracks can be programmed.
- Program mode works in STOP mode only.
- Hold the "PROGRAM / MEMORY / CLK - ADJ." button for 2 seconds to enter program mode. The "PROG" icon will be turned on. "000 P01" will be shown with "000" flashing. "000" represents the track number and "P01" represents the program location number.

Press the ▶▶▶ F - SKIP or ◀◀◀ B - SKIP button to select the required track number.

Press the "PROGRAM / MEMORY / CLK -ADJ." button to confirm the track number. The display will show the next program number "000 P02". The track number will be flashing again, enter the desired track number.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all the desired tracks has been programmed or all the program memories have been used.
It will loop back to P01 after all the program memories have been used. The same track number can be programmed more than once.

MP3/WMA/USB display
USB / SD / MMC OPERATION
- Insert USB / SD / MMC into the USB / SD / MMC input slots of the system.
- Press the "FUNCTION" button to select USB / SD / MMC mode.
- The unit will start to read the media and playback will start automatically.
note: The USB connector does not support connection with a USB extension cable and it is not designed for communication with a computer directly.

FUNCTION
The manufacturer is not responsible for the playability of a USB / SD / MMC disk or MP3 player due to recording conditions, capacity, interface compatibility, etc. Due to different formats, some USB / SD / MMC disks or MP3 players may take longer time to be read.

MUTE ON/OFF
Mute on / off is changed cyclically by pushing the MUTE button.
The "mute" mark is on during mute.
Mute will be cancelled when you carry out the following operations.
a. Press the MUTE button again.
b. The Volume is adjusted by the VOL +/- button.

PRESET EQ
- Press the TIMER / EQ button to select the following EQ settings :the following EQ -settings :EQ settings :
- FLAT -> ROCK -> JAZZ -> CLASSIC -> POP -> FLAT. will be shown on the display.
TIMER
- Press the STANDBY button to go into standby mode.
- Press and hold the "TIMER/EQ" button, "TIMER"/ the hour digits will flash.
Press the |◀◀▶▶| skip buttons to set the hour.
Press the "TIMER/EQ" button to confirm, the minutes digits will flash and press the skip buttons to set the minutes. Press the "TIMER/EQ" button to confirm.



TIMER / EQ

- Timer wake up can be selected as UDISK / CD / TUNER / SD / MMC by futhur pressing








- Wake up volume can be selected by pressing the VOLUME +/- button and press the "TIMER/EQ" button to confirm.
- To enable the TIMER function, press the TIMER/EQ button at standby mode and the unit will turn on at the selected preset times.
ID 3 DISPLAY
- Press the ID3 button on the remote to enter ID3 setting mode and select "ID3 ON" or "ID3 OFF"
- Song name, Singer name and album name can be displayed cyclically during playing MP3.
- Title-song name → Artist-singer name → Album-Album name →


FOLDER SELECTION
- In STOP mode, press the BAND / FOLDER button to skip to the next folder.
- This operation is valid for MP3 / WMA / USB media that has been placed into a folder.

TO SET SLEEP FUNCTION
- If you want to fall asleep to music, press and hold the SNOOZE / SLEEP button when the unit is on.
- You may adjust the radio or CD player's sleep function to play from 10, 20, 30 up to 90 minutes of music before shutting itself off automatically. 00 = sleep timer off


SNOOZE
During the stop mode
- Pressing the SNOOZE / SLEEP button on the remote will turn off the system for 9 minutes.
- PIs note that the SNOOZE / SLEEP button will only be functional during TIMER mode.

AUX. IN
An external (auxiliary) audio source (i.e., personal CD player or MP3 player) can be connected to this unit and heard through the speakers.
1) Plug one end of the cable (not included) into the AUX IN socket on the unit.
2) Plug the other end of the cable into the Headphone or Line Out socket of the external source.
3) Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until "AUX" is shown on the display.

(Plug the other end into the external source such as an MP3 player.)
Continue to operate the CD or MP3 player as usual. Selections will be heard through the unit's speakers.

INTRO
In CD mode, press to play only the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc.

CLOCK SETTING
Clock setting mode works in stop mode
- Hold the PROGRAM / MEMORY / CLK - ADJ. button clock mode 12 or 24 hours will flash.
- Press the ◀◀◀ B - SKIP or ▶▶▶ F - SKIP button to adjust 24 - hour or 12 - hour clock mode.
- Press the PROGRAM / MEMORY / CLK - ADJ. button again, the hour digit will flash on the display.
- Press the ◀◀◀ B - SKIP or ▶▶▶ F - SKIP button to adjust the hour digit.
- Press the PROGRAM / MEMORY / CLK - ADJ. button again, the minute digit will flash on the display.
- Press the B - SKIP or F - SKIP button to adjust the minute digit.
- Press the PROGRAM / MEMORY / CLK - ADJ. button again, the correct time will be shown on the display.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING CD
If the CD skips or will not play, the disc may need cleaning. Before playing, wipe the disc from the centre out with a cleaning cloth. After playing, store the disc in its case.
CLEANING THE UNIT
Do not use volatile chemicals on this unit. Clean by lightly wiping with a soft cloth.

IMPORTANT NOTE
If an abnormal display indication or an operating problem occurs, disconnect the AC power cord and remove the batteries. Wait at least 5 seconds, then reconnect the AC power cord or reinstall the batteries.
CLEANING THE CD LENS
If the CD lens is dusty, clean it with a brush-blower. Blow several times on the lens and remove the dust with the brush. Finger prints may be removed with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol.

WARNING
Should the CD door be opened before the reading of the CD is completed, a jamming noise may occur. This is resolved by closing the CD door.
