The BOYA BY-M1S is a universal lavalier microphone, which can be used with cameras, smartphones, and other recording devices.

It is designed for reliable and trouble-free performance. In order to ensure you have a good experience, please read this manual thoroughly and keep it for future reference.

① Omnidirectional mic capsule

- Picks up sound. The sound enters through the holes in the top of the capsule.

② Camera/Smartphone switch

- Camera: for use with cameras or other devices with 3.5mm TRS audio input jack.

- Smartphone: for use with smartphones or other devices with 3.5mm TRRS audio input jack.

③ 3.5mm connector

- Connects the microphone to a smartphone, camera, camcorder, or other recording devices.

④ Clothing clip

⑤ Foam windscreen

Using the microphone

Attaching the microphone to the clothing clip

- Insert the microphone into the plastic loop on the clothing clip.

Mounting the microphone to your Clothing

• Attach the microphone to the front of your clothing with the clothing clip, about 20cm (8 inches) from your mouth.
• It is recommended that you use the foam wind screen at all times to avoid wind noise, even when recording inside.

Tips and notes:

① Tape a loose loop of the microphone cord to the inside of your clothing.
This provides additional strain relief for the microphone cord and isolation from unwanted noise.
② Before recording an important event, record and play back a short test clip with the microphone attached to ensure audio recording is functioning properly.

Using the microphone with a smartphone

1. Attach the microphone to your clothing (see previous instructions).
2. Slide the Camera/Smartphone switch to Smartphone.
3. Plug the 3.5mm connector into the audio jack of your smartphone.
4. Open an audio or video recording app and start recording.

Using the microphone with a camera

1. Attach the microphone to your clothing (see previous instructions).
2. Slide the Camera/Smartphone switch to Camera.
3. Plug the 3.5mm connector into the audio input jack of your DSLR, Point and Shoot camera, or camcorder, and start filming.

Note:

Not all cameras have a microphone input. Verify this with your camera manufacturer. Many cameras have headphone, remote control, and other ports that look similar to a microphone input. Make sure that you are using the correct one.

Using the microphone with a laptop

Note:

BOYA BY-M1S can only be used with laptop whose headphone jack and microphone jack is combined.

1. Attach the microphone to your clothing (see previous instructions).
2. Slide the Camera/Smartphone switch to Smartphone.
3. Plug the 3.5mm connector into the audio jack of your laptop.
4. Open an audio app and start recording.

Using the microphone with other devices

1. Attach the microphone to your clothing (see previous instructions).
2. Slide the Camera/Smartphone switch to Camera.
3. Plug the 3.5mm connector into the audio input jack of your device (audio recorder, amplifier, etc.), and start recording.

使用方法

将麦克风固定在衣服上

将麦克风夹在衣服上，距离嘴巴约20-25厘米。

- 建议您始终使用防风海绵，以避免风噪，即使在室内录音时也保持使用。
